The days of selling newspapers are dead. The traditional news media is on its last legs. All the old timers at Fairfax and News Limited think that the only way to save the news is to make it more and more sensational and because of this, the truth to the story is quite often overlooked in favor of something that will gain more clicks.
The only way to reign this sort of behavior in is to take these Papers and their Journos to task each and every time they blow up a false story. If the NRL and or its players start dragging these monkeys through the courts more often, they'll start thinking a lot harder about what they publish. They no longer have the deep pockets or the influence they once used to.
