No, the title is NOT a typo folks !
Credit where it's due has always been something I am prepared to give.
Today there was a really fantastic promotional campaign that I heard On 2UE about our sharkies.
Great stuff, Sydney wide and something I have never heard before from our club, I often hear parra, dragins , and panthers advertising and doing comps and promotions, but never before the sharkies.
Well today there was an Ad spoken by Matty Rieck " Hi, Matt Rieck from the Sharks here"
He spoke very well , better than alot of on air talent that read ads at the station. It was a mushroom growers add, he spoke of mushies and how good they are, and asked everyone to get down to shark park on sunday for a mushroom pie. Obviously paid for by the mushy growers who are sponsors of ours, sounds like they are match day sponsors this week, but it was a great ad and will help numbers IM sure.
THen later on Steve PRice drivetime, he devoted a good deal of time talking about the Be a Shark promotion for kids aged between 8 and 15 to enter, the winner will be announced thursday and they will get to run on with the sharks on sunday, place the ball for kick off, and sit on the bench I think, they also get a jumper and a ball signed.
Entries for kids between 8-15 years can be emailled to promotions@2ue.com.au
It got us great exposure and I really was impressed.
Is there a new staff member in the marketing team ?
where has this turn around and initiative come from ?
LOL, couldnt help but have a dig, but seriously, its impressive and if that kind of thing continues, our club will reap the rewards.
Not perfect, i mean, the dogs at home on a sunday isnt really the kind of game we need to promote to get a good crowd, maybe more useful for a cowboys or warriors, but with storms predicted on sunday, I guess this good campaign will ensure a good crowd anyway.
Mark this down in your memories folks....Beeks says " well done marketing ! "
