Tim Smith will not be in the side you know that. His just a kid. Weller is a long way away. Atm id prefer smith at coach, just imagining what you could do as coach means we would be definate wooden spooners.

So because I suggest a few chances, All of a sudden I am trying to be coach, You have to understand here that all of us parra supporters suspect changes at the conclusion of matches, Your a tool if you think we wont. You say that Weller is a lon way away, WE all thought that about Jack and now look at him, One week Jersey Flegg, The next First Grade. With Tim Smith, How do we know he wont be chosen, No one thought Ben Smith was going to be running around in melbourne last night, did we?

Yeah, kudos to Smith for trying something and bringing some young guys up at this stage in the season.

I don't think Tim Smith will get a run this year though. Ben was promoted to PL before Tim, and so it seems logical that Ben would get first shot into firsts.

It seemed logical that Jim Curtis or Josh Cordoba would get a shot before Afasamaga, Did they? NO, Smith is unpredictable and alot of it is good, I wouldn't be ruling Tim Smith or anyone playing Reggies or Jersey Flegg out of making the First Grade side for parra this year. We have nothing to lose now remember.

Mateo looked like he had been playing there all year. Only his first game but glad to see. Maybe he should have had a chance earlier but as a young fellow I think the more time he is given the better - we definitely don't want a Benji on our hands.

Smith was impressive in defence. He is bigger than I thought. Bit of toe as well. Tahu, Vaealiki and O'Dwyer will have plenty of competition next year.

The difference being that big Jack was dominating reggies, and clearly standing out above Cordoba and Curtis in my view, whilst Tim Smith has struggled a bit over the last month or so. No point playing him just for the sake of it.

Jack only ever played one game in 1st div which he really well in other than that he was a Flegg player all year.

Yep.

The point is, he showed more in that to get the call up than Cordoba and Curtis. Its often the little things that guys like Jack do in the lower grades that can set them apart from the rest.

I hope you are as proud of your team as I am following Saturday nights heart breaking loss to the Storm down in Melbourne.

As I said to them after the game, they put in so much to win the game, but in the end it was not the players who determined the result, it was the men with the whistle, flags and remote control.

I was really pleased with how we stuck to the task and fought back on a couple of occasions against a home team playing some pretty good football.

There were some disappointing decisions made that hurt our team badly, even if you put to one side the last try and the try that took them to 16 points, when we thought the ball was clearly grounded in touch. The amount of penalties that were blown at crucial times for non descript offences which were then ignored later in the game leave us all scratching our heads. Our boys deserved better than what they received for the efforts they made.

We threw some young blokes into the deep end in Ben Smith and Feleti Mateo and we were all really happy with how they represented their Club for the first time in First Grade.

Back to home we go on Saturday with a big game against our neighbourly rivals the Wests Tigers. They too were the victims of a number of bad calls last week, and both teams are already preparing for a massive game.

Ben Smith is a big boy, he's a regular at the "North Hill"

Very good young centre and great for depth if he doesn't force his way into the side before injuries to others.

We lost because you can't develop a decent pair of Halves, Smithy! Stop blaming the ref for our losses, you are starting to sound like Strider!
