FMD you blokes. This beggars belief. So what we reckon is Wadey has deliberately stuck his finger up ASADA arse in a very public way only to retract it publically later on? Hes a proud footballer isn't he? Why would you issue an apology for something you intended doing that apparently hit its mark? You guys don't need me to tell ya that you can believe what you want, its a free world. I reckon it was blind purile recalcitrance from a young bloke who (if he gave it any thought which I doubt) did what most 22 year olds would do "f**k it its me day orrf...sniff''' im gunna wear what I want sniff" which is totally different from a tactical strategy designed to put ASADA off. If the later was true why did he or the club need to apologise. He dint think and the club have pulled him up on it. Reefy's pickin a bone with us all I reckon and ive fallen hls!

^Agree. Not only was it not strategic it was embarrassing. You lot will be saying next the apology was part of Wade's master plan. The club weren't impressed with him either.

ASADA may be a shambles but so are we. Only club under the pump. Paying legal fees for advice that all other NRL and AFL clubs will use. You lot probably believe being investigated first was part of the plan too. The fact ASADA may not prove anything seems to obscure the fact we may have done something wrong. Surprises me how few forum fans seem to care. I don't know how to set up a poll, but would be interested to know how many believe we have done anything wrong. I am against Horse blood injections (whatever) legal or not. Don't care if rest of NRL takes legal injections. I am against it.

Sure have Carch. Got 3 of em and haven't ever apologised for wearing them. I get the rebellion thing, I just don't reckon that's what went down. We're trying to get sponsors for gords sake. Cant we look like a professional side.

Just picture Wade doing his own little rap dance in the interview room, to ASADA's tune. -
`We're ASADA we're having a ball
We'll grab those Sharks and we'll nail 'em to the wall'
He was just tryna fit in. Shoulda taken MC Hammerhead with him.

It may well be simple coincidence but equally likely to be a PR strategy.

In either case, Wade's attire does deliver a subliminal message about the level of respect due to the ASADA investigation, followed by a PR apology to placate the 'shocked masses' after the damage is done.

Fine by me

F which is totally different from a tactical strategy designed to put ASADA off. I
Its not to put ASADA off. Its to add to the ANti ASADA momentum in the public through use of the media.
Anybody who has had legal representation knows that you are instructed what to wear & in what colour. The required backlash has happened with people more interested in attire then ASADA.
The reason for the apology is to protect Wade from fine.

The club were not happy definite. Who was going to fine him? You actually believe he was told by counsel to wear thongs? My last post on this nonsense. So what will the 10 wear next week or whenever? Why not thongs and backwards cap again , if to add to Anti ASADA sentiment?

I believe it is political but let's not credit the likes of Wade with such strategic brains. If instructed by counsel, what do they have to gain by instructing a player to dress like a Hillsong rapper? How do you know he wasnt instructed to dress appropriately but thought stuff it , who cares , I am a Gen Y 22 year old and no-one instructs me how to dress.

Absolutely.
The incredulous thing here is the only people who think that he wasnt instructed to wear it, are the people who care about what he wore.
These people have the ying without the yang. You expect there to be an expected dress sense & not have an instructed dress sense.
It doesnt make sense.
Wade was told what to wear. he didnt wear it. He wore what his counsel told him to ionstead. Mission accomplished. Teh more people whinging the better. its front page & taken ASADA off the front page. They will ahve to start talkign aboput John manna again to gain public momentum.

Frenzy.

Good on him. Looked to me like he was treating it with the full respect it deserves.

Too funny - was the first sign of a fightback from our club since they shot across our bow.

This was carefully orchestrated. A young bloke like that would've spoken about every aspect of this meeting with older heads such as Gal and Lewie.
After all the first interview laid the pattern for what was to follow - if wade folds the house of cards would gone.

Read the article today where they got into him and threatened a refraction - only to be informed they don't have the power to do so.

Ha...shot down at every turn - they must've been steaming when he walked in and dissed them totally and then not to play ball and then to have the whole thing come to a screeching halt.

Too funny.

Sharks 1
ASADA 0

About time we had a win.
