A very gutsy performance from your team today. Kennedy still looks as always a class act, hopefully he lasts. Terry Hill was inspirational, bit of a worry with the timing of his tackles, rather high at times.

You looked very well organised in defence which is the hallmark of going places in the premiership - could be a very good year for Manly.

Congratulations.

I thought the warriors were going to win by 84?

All said in jest. Long off season (following a horror season), having a bit of fun at the expense of our Manly friends (99% of us were Manly supporters after all in the late 80's early 90s)

I wouldn't take half what Ozbash and I say too seriously in terms of our predictions.

Well played.

I'd say Manly could be in the hunt for the top 8, whereas the Warriors are in the hunt for the spoon.

There goes the expectation on the sheep shaggers...

Its round 1. Its not over yet. But there will need to be a lot of offensive adjustments needed to be made.

Well played.

Yeah good game.
Great forward play by both teams, lots of niggle, bit of mild biff :D
We both had terrible completion rates but you guys took your chances while we, well, dropped ours
See you next time.

Cheers :alcho:

Early Days yet. Still reckon the Warriors will give the 8 a shake, as long as you stop running around like headless chooks inside the oppositions 20...

Turn it up, Iafeta!!! Manly were just as bad as we were. Manly were pretty much owned by the Warriors.

Congratulations Manly for the ability to kick 40/20's and get a freakish try. Hope you guys didn't pay too much for Brent Kite, he got absolutely owned

It may sound like sour grapes, but seriously guys, you just got out of jail on this one. Congrats on getting the 2 points and good luck for the rest of the season, you certainly didn't look like wooden spoon contenders there. I really enjoyed the game (apart from the result), the intensity was at breaking point and it was a very good contest. Well done.

How did they get out of gaol? They always had a buffer on us, except for the first 30.

How were the Sea Eagles owned by the Warriors when they nailed two 40/20's behind a badly positioned winger - when our kicking game aside from 2/3 from Nathan Fien was horrid, when our centre couldn't catch a cold and lost control?

We can do a load better - Jones running to the line would be a start, Jones getting a good kicking game in, Toopi catching the ball and thinking of the other 16 players before losing his cool. There were some good aspects, I thought our forwards were terrific, particularly right up front.

Manly thoroughly deserved the win. The Warriors were not embarrassed, but given this was a home game against a team with similar ratings, it was a must win match and a lack of ball control, halves organisation and composure - but more importantly a valiant effort from Manly cost the Warriors.

Well played Manly.

Congrats Manly.

Fairly ordinary game between ordinary teams (at least today). If Manly can keep their defence going, and the Warriors learn how to attack, then both teams are in the hunt.

Wiki was MIA for 90% of that game, so have a look at your own players before you start bagging our players.

lucky trys??? you scored 2 of them! You had your chances to score and blew them in terrible fasion, manly stayed cool for most of the match and reaped the rewards.

sour grapes indeed.

90% of the game MIA? 184 metres and 27 tackles says Wiki was there and then some.

I said you scored a freakish try, nimrod. Oh, unless you practise kicking the ball, it getting charged down back into the hands of the kicker who then offloads to another player to score.

Both teams scored a try off a deflection. - freakish or lucky its the same.

Both forward packs ran hard and will cause some serious headaches throughout the season.

I thought wiki had a quiet game when watching but the stats dont lie. Must have gone under the radar. I thought Price had a belter and was close to man of the match. I the warriors had backed him up there would have been a few more offloads and the result may have been different.

Both teams should be happy with the performance - A HUGE improvement from last year.

There is always a lot of dropped ball in the first round due to nerves, anticipation etc.

I thought it was one tuff hard contest and a FURKEN GREAT GAME to watch

Did you even watch it, buddy?

YOu scored a try almost identical to Menzies' then you guys scored another when Stewart didn't quite reel it in all all you had to do was trip yourself over and touch the ball for a try.

Talk about black and white glasses...

I enjoyed the game, but not the result.
Well played Manly. Hoppa and Hill intimidated Meli and Toopi right from the whistle and it showed.
Kite was exceptional and the old fulla Hill still has what it takes. Your team at least had attacking options.

Can't wait till we meet again..
