Wellington 7s- what a farce

Surely a charge-down is merely the blocking of a kick immediately after it leaves the boot. I've never seen these technicalities used before. I've seen many charge-downs and they all looked exactly like that one.

"7s is the most exciting of all rugby games and thats why it should be in the Olympics ."
No it f**kin isnt!
It's a bloody error fest with amatuer teams, only nz and fiji take 7's seriously and nz doesnt even release it's top 150 players.

Yeah thats why South Africa , Samoa , England Argentina have all won and made the finals in the last years .
Taipan the Wellington 7s sold out in two hours and the Hong Kong 7s . I would watch 7s rugby anyday over a league or rugby test match .
People would turn out to watch test matches in league and rugby even if they played out an nil all draw .
Cricket fans flock to watch one day cricket but test matches are a joke .
7s circuits is to promote the game around the world and there's nothing wrong with that .
League 7s in Sydney was seen by others as a development step for minor nations .
But the rugby 7s circuits is a joke if your a league fan right .
At lease the IRB have a 7s circuits and I thank them for that .

I didn't know that Carl Hayman and Deacon Manu and other frontrowers were getting a look in .
The players that represent NZ in Wellington will be the top 20 7s players in NZ .
Its like the Australian cricket team . There's almost set of players for the one day and others for test matches .
Then there's those who are great at both .

You quoted Wellington and on Hong Kong.,there are plenty of other venues old son where they are not sold out.And this is not a league v union thing which you brought up not surprisingly.
There a a fair number of union fans and league fans if ypou want to bring that up who dont take 7s seriously other than a fun event.
Where did I hint that 7s does not promote the code in either codes.
Get off your defensive high horse mate, its becoming boring.

So only 2 of the venues have sold out out of about 8 in the series to watch the great Edwin Cocker (ohhh) and Mark Cauldroon (ohhh), yes - it's clear that i loathe union PW because 7's is soooo big and im just so jealous, i always bash union everyday

South Africa and Dubai were sold out too ThrashVikijng . But do you think a league 7s tournament will sold out in any of those country ?
Well I see if league start their world sevens again I should let the ARL know its a bad idea to have 7s .

OK I will give you a head start if there is a league world 7s in Sydney it wont be sold out.Might get 15-20,000 per day .The ARL will still be happy ,they know it opens the code to other countries ,but they also realise its a fun day for the fans .
There wont be a league 7s in STh Africa or Dubai so what, they cant sell out union 7s in Oz,because most people who follow union prefer 15 a side.
I repeat for the hundredth time the union 7s does not have the top players from the S12 comp.

Its not about having the best stars . Its about rugby actually doing something with its small version of the game .
It might not have the best stars in OZ and NZ but the guys representing Samoa , Fiji , Niue and other minor nations are all stars in their own local comp .

It may be about the stars in the smaller countries, but it should also apply to the stars of the larger countries.
The Olympics is about having the best athletes representing and competing for
your country regardless of the size of the country.I dont want to see second rate Australians play 7s when Lote etc are busy elsewhere.

i agree how can you get penalised for charging down a kick no matter waht you do with your hands....... for a start its not even a knock on let alone a penalty....

Ok mate Im on the phone with the IRB and telling them to cancel the 7s series and the World cup 7s and dont worry about the Olympics as well as cancel the RWC .

Ok lets be serious here Taipan . Do you think the IRB having 7s tournaments in places like Los Angeles , Dubai , Singapore , Chile and other minor rugby countries is a bad idea ?
Some of the league fans on this forum and other forum are crying out for a world league 7s to held anywhere on this earth .
So do you think thats a bad idea too ? Do you think that the IRB are wrong at trying to enter rugby 7s to the Olympics ?

Mr PW all I am trying to say(and you refuse too read ) and I do follow a little union via the All Blacks mainly, that I prefer 15 a side and the best available players not second raters in the Olympics.
I have stated earlier that 7s is a great way to introduce other countries to the game ,otherwise Fiji wouldnt have been involved with league.
I think it has its place in a world union 7s circuit as it is ATM,not the Olympics.
So shoot me if I have a different opinion.
I want to see the best whether it be union, league, boxing from the countries and in the case of union the 15 a side true blue, fair dinkum no holds barred game.If the IRB had gone for 15s I would support it.
You prefer 7s I dont ,thats the difference, and I am not alone sorry.
