Were any 1895 'originals' at the first RL World Cup ?

This thought poppped into my head the other day when re - reading one of my RL books.

Working on the theory that say a player was 22 - 24 years of age in 1895 ... then come 1954 they would have been in their early 80's when the the inaugaural tournament was on.

I've never read anything suggesting any 'originals' were guests or otherwise for the tournament but surely they would have been a few around still who would have been very proud to see how the game had progressed.

The poms at the time didn't any to do with it, they have always held the game back and always will (esp in their part of the world).

That thread at the other site is a disgrace and you being a real fan would know it.

I love how so called fans just line up in RL to kick it. Fantastic.

I also love how so called fans like to rewrite history to suit their argument.

Just like the frauds at that other site that said the SL wars had no effect on RL in Australia at all. I could understand if I read that at a union/soccer/fumbleball site, but not a RL site.

So no RHS, no grog in my system, just telling it like it is as a pissed off fan that is sick and tired of having to argue the merits of the game I follow to arseholes who seem to be pretending to follow and like the game, there is no need for lies.

i got hooked on tooheys new when i was down there.....was gonna get some in when origin was on...but not at 12quid for 6 lol
