Wests Tigers - can they make the finals?

They have a pretty good spine but there are question marks around their depth and the coach. Do you think they can play finals this year? I think they're a chance if their spine remains healthy and they've got blokes who knows what it to takes premierships. As one of the big Sydney clubs I'm sure people would love to see them return to finals, they haven't played finals since 2011 and Sydney will be buzzing if/when the Tigers return to finals.

In 2026 or just like....ever?

I mean I think the answer is about the same but there's at least some statistical nuance to he latter

Btw I think this is thread number 5 out of my prediction that we will soon have a thread started for every club by random troll alts.

This Year?

Tigers and Dragons will make the finals and will play off to become the worst semi finalist team of the NRL era.
You heard it here first.
It's a sure thing.
You can put your house on it etc etc.

I like them though. It encourages fans of other teams to discuss the clubs prospects for the year beyond just putting them 17th in the ladder prediction thread because they hate them.

I dunno about all that. Like for one, I hate 15 clubs basically equally.

Then I hate the Storm more.

Then I hate f**ken Parramatta the absolute most

Depends on the coaching staff. Can they get the players to lock-in and ignore all the off field shit which wont go away.

I would really like them to, I have nostalgia for their good seasons. At least they’ve got something to build on this year.

Can we? Yes absolutely
Will we? Very likely no

Its the best 17 and deeper squad we've had since 2011, half our team have played in a Prelim final so the talent is there. Our depth is pretty decent this year. We've brought in guys who were first choice depth players for Penrith, Brisbane, NZ and Easts instead of the Ron Massey guys we had in roster spots 20-30 last year.

We've only had 1 guy with off season surgery and at the full contact opposed training session last week only 1 of the top 30 + 6 dev players (Mav Geyer) wasnt fit to participate. Apart from the round 1 bye the draw is kind compared to last year. The first five games are winnable playing 4 teams that finished out of the 8 and a Metcalfless Warriors.

There are absolutely no excuses for the team not to have a good season, anything below a finals spot is a failure. I dot think the off field stuff effects players that much, they're too dumb and self centered to understand.

But Im a Tigers fan, I dont expect nice things. We have the worst coaching staff in the comp and they are miles off even the 16th worst. I expect we do well enough so people say 'You can see the Tigers are buidling' and keep Benji employed. Likely a 10th-12th finish.

I have to admit the Tigers have impressed me this year, if not for injuries during the game against the Rabbitohs they could well be 3-0. It'll be interesting to see how they go against Penrith, as no one has been able to lay a glove on the Panthers so far this year as the clear stand out team.

The next month will be telling, because we usually start the season with a few wins and fall apart. The only difference is this season we are putting teams away which we haven’t done in some time

The Warriors game was interesting for me, usually we come into games up for it, but if we start slow that quickly dissipates. On Friday we copped a few early tries then got ourselves back into the game and won convincingly in the end against a very strong side.

Knowing us though we will probably leak 40 against Parramatta on Monday

2 wins from 3 starts and pushed Souths for a win. They’ll be in the 7-10th range in the last month of the season
