Put the “tremendous ” back into your own tigers riot and watch the HBG scarper with your very own official WT Molotov Cocktail:

*single use only
*petrol not included

I would have thought a dragon chasing and devouring Steelerman at halftime would make brilliant entertainment 😂

Maybe we should lock the HBG board into an isolation room with a tv showing every stuff up the club has made since 2006.
It should be great viewing for the tossers, some may die of old age before it stops running.
They wouldn’t know what a game of rugby league looked like.

Dennis thinks the “Barnes” in the name HBG stands for his mate Jimmy.

If I’m one on one with Dennis, I’m getting a pair of scissors and I’m going to cut his f**king hair.

Full shaved head with a tatt of the Steve edmed on the back.

And we need Junior to turn up to the riot as well. Someone we all love and respect.

The only blight on him is Mitch who he should have adopted out at birth….

He’d still be at the orphange today.

Don't worry, we lost our barber as well.
The way you've described all that, there was/is plenty of angles for failure, but as we both seem to agree that it is the common colour that keeps the two happy plus an equal name.
This is vital when branding a sporting team. Imagine if the Perth Bears wore a green jersey instead of the bears colours and I guess the old perth reds side have similarities.
Whatever the logo is, it's important because that's what you chant.
The colours is how you identify the club.
I’m surprised that as part of the JV agreement they wouldn’t have specified one jersey be majority orange, one jersey majority black and one jersey majority white (whatever) to use where the other two aren’t applicable??? Or something along those lines?

Yeah, but the poor old Steelers turned into a pair of socks.

The SGI board have struggled with coaches for awhile, except for Flanno.

Even Flanno, there was an element of good fortune and he had a lot of critics.

A bit like us jagging the May boys, heaven sent instead of any long term planning.

SGI, they finally nail an awesome coach and then the stars fall out of alignment and they have rapid rupture of the squad.

So my thoughts, we have a better squad that is poorly led and you guys have a poorer squad, but much better led.

And the edge, well it could be something like you have a better assessment of support staff.

They don’t seem to rely on who or whether or not there is a connection to a grand final played two decades ago like we do.

You get Daniel Anderson in to lead the junior r&r effort and it’s a big call because the kids will feature strongly. There’s no option.

There’s going to be plenty of blood spilt between the coaching staff. There’s no yes men.

Your club wants a very dynamic and feisty environment behind the scenes.

For Tigers fans, once you get into SGI affairs, very interesting as the hobby.

And like us, they are climbing that hill. Desperate for success.

‘It will always be Wests Tigers’: V’landys’ promise to long-suffering fans
By Adrian Proszenko
December 6, 2025 — 4.30pm

The NRL has assured Wests Tigers fans neither Balmain or Western Suburbs will ever be excluded from the joint venture as head office seeks assurances that the latest boardroom dramas don’t adversely affect the football team.

It has been a week of negative headlines for the Tigers after the Holman Barnes Group (HBG), the majority owner of the Tigers, removed four independent directors, including chairman Barry O’Farrell. A whistleblower complaint levelled against Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson has also sparked speculation he will part company with the club on Monday.

It is the latest battle for control of the Tigers after the HBG claimed it was being excluded from key decisions, such as the football side’s stadia strategy. There have also been suggestions the HBG wants to remove Balmain from the joint venture, a claim vehemently denied by its chief executive Daniel Paton.

Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys sought his own assurances about HBG’s intentions during a conversation with Paton this week. Regardless, V’landys assured long-suffering fans there will always be a Wests Tigers in the NRL.

“Our prime aim is to make sure that neither the Balmain or Wests side is diluted in any way,” V’landys said on Saturday.

“We will protect the Tigers fans and the Wests fans. It’s going to be a genuine Wests Tigers franchise … I stress, there will be no dilution, it will always be Wests Tigers. If they think they will change it to anything else, they’re in for a shock.

“To be fair to them, they have given me an undertaking that it’s not their intention, that’s not the case. It’s more a dispute between the shareholders and the board.”

V’landys reiterated he was concerned about the Tigers’ corporate governance after the mass boardroom sackings of O’Farrell, Annabelle Williams, Charlie Viola and Michelle McDowell, less than a year after the four independents were installed.

“We want to make sure it doesn’t affect the running of the football club,” V’landys said.

“We want to make sure that [coach] Benji Marshall and the players are quarantined from all of this drama. It’s important because they need to prepare for next season without these worries, so we need to make sure that they will be quarantined from any drama.

“In the interim, we will speak to all parties to see what has caused this instability.”

The NRL’s Integrity Unit is following up the whistleblower complaint to decide whether there is any substance to the allegations. The complaint raised serious concerns about the conduct of Richardson and senior staff at the club.

HBG is making its contingency plans in preparation for Richardson’s potential exit and are considering parachuting recently departed Manly chief Tony Mestrov into an interim role.

Tony Mestrov, mmm. Very experienced, but very difficult to walk into this. Especially as an HBG choice.

The main issue is HBG and PVL isn’t really addressing it.

So by default at the moment supporting them regardless of “expressing concerns”

Weasel words to the Rebels, they won’t cop it.

Interesting read for anyone not knowing much about this stuff

Wests Tigers’ travail is a Sydney property disaster story https://share.google/fsyMpQK43g0CVyoZB
What if Elias and Wright succeeded?
Anyway, Richo, if cleared and can soldier on, wants to know who he's accountable to. He has been quoted in saying, “I’m not putting my name on the line if they’re not going appoint an independent board. Any contract I sign is about true corporate governance,” he says.
Wests Tigers: Can the NRL’s worst team finally turn itself around? https://share.google/hjOj1JH83gZXq3G1z

What did he mean by, we are not interested in the profit now but more about the future?
Why couldn't he talk the club up instead of down.
It's you , you idiot that got us into this mess, why are you not acknowledging our recent surge of progress, small but a succss.. We are getting new dunnies for our grounds for Pete's sake.

This bloke needs a dummy for saying HBG is kept out of the loop, referring to the jerseys. Don't they approve such things.
Do they consult Wests Tigers fans? I'm not talking about Balmain or Western Suburbs fans but WT fans. Why is our merch and playing strip over recent years been prominently black, just like this years all black members packs. It looks crap.
As soon as we get what looks like a real marketable jersey you spit the dummy you dumbo. Boo hoo.
Confession time for me tomorrow sorry

That goes against what I'm saying Red sorry. Good point but it's part of our problem all this uncertainty .
We need one NRL club jersey with an equal amount of white, black and gold on it and keep that forever and forever, just like your jersey.
Your red V is the reason a lot of your members have hung in their imo.
Once kids grow up following the one brand, one logo and same colours they wont accept anything else, it won't feel normal.
It's the old diehards that are not willing to change and let go. They are stubborn.
Balmain fans like me have let go and I follow Wests.....Wests Tigers. I don't sook that we're not called Balmain.
The club is already called Wests Tigers the dumbos.
😡
I hope all RL fans march if they can, just like we did with George Piggins.

WTF couldn't they have waited till all signings were complete?
It looks to me, they always seem intent to destroy our season, looking at Wests history, it may well be the case, that they do it every year.
My prediction is, the club certainly won't end and new independent (????) directors will come in, Richo will survive (I can't see him do anything so transparent as they are claiming), Benji will get Bula & Luai signed and we go again.
