Does anyone know how the scouting of the younger blokes to form a new team this year is going ?? or they still scouting etc?

If you look on the Balmain website there is mention of the Balmain players selected for the cubs including Dean Caldwell, David Pangai, Samu Wara. These three young players, two centres and 5/8 are really the future of WTs and hopefully Sheens has them secured long term.

The Balmain players in the cubs squad are David Pangai, Dean Caldwell, Sam Wara, Jarrod Farlow, Ewen Cameron, Adam Falcone, Nim Ngata, Freddy Khouiss and Richie Nicholas. I'm sure yappy would be able to supply the magpies boys names.

oro is right when he says that the first three are the future of the wests tigers, all three are VERY special players. I'm also a very big fan of Ewen Cameron who is an especially talented young prop.

Hmmm I cant see that but I did see the 13's,14's,16's & 17's development squads....congrats to all boys specially the five shammies.

The development squads have annual matches against souths and wests - I think its in July.

Is the WestsTigers cubs a mix of the best of the two SG ball squads?

Yeah the cubs is basically a mix of the best young talent from both clubs - last year it was mostly flegg boys with a couple of the more promising sg ball players thrown in. This year with flegg getting a full season and the sg ball age limit rising it looks like they've gone for all SG Ball players.

I know we played newcastle, parra and cronulla last year (might have been others) not sure if its the same this year or if we'll have different games

The Wests Tigers Cubs Squad has been selected for 2004. The combined squad of the best talent at Wests and Balmain will play trial games throughout the remainder of the season. It is a very strong squad featuring 3 members of the NSW u/17s side that recently thrashed Qld.
