That's a good point, Western Sydney Tigers have played just as many seasons in the NRL as the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

I don't get hatred from Rabbitohs fans for the Tigers. They should be happy that the Tigers have a strong supporter base who barrack for them through thick and thin. It's great that Rabbitohs are going strong and we need more of it.

Does it matter if the team was created in 1908 or 2000?

All that matters is whether the club is viable going forward.

South Sydney draw good support when they're competitive on the field, but it fades away when they're struggling at the bottom.

In 2017 and 2006 they averaged less than 11k.

Why are you so fussed about when their existence began?

None of us were around in 1908. Broncos only date back to 1988, but they're more important to the NRL and, despite being a basketcase on the field and having a poorly run HQ, they're lightyears ahead of where South Sydney were when at rock bottom.

All that matters is viability. Tigers have a strong enough supporter base to remain solvent during lean years.
