Wests Why?: Tigers Lacking Brillance in 2011

That is hardly balanced comment noting injuries. Add Lawrence, Tuqiri and switch Brown to f/b and some of the results may have been different.

But there's always an excuse. Fact is, we have made shit sides look good since the beginning of our existence, injuries or no injuries.

Don't know how anyone could possibly be confident for Friday night without Marshall. We have all seen our attack with out him: non-existent and predictable.

I agree Tigerhawk, we will come good. There is far too much pride in the side not to do so.

Hybrid, the depth of the changes we sense must reassure you the Club is not impressed with its results.

Sorry R2, but it's been a long time coming, arguably some seasons ago, for some of them?

I do agree with Hybrid, if we were ever going to knock the dogs off, last week should have been it.
The eels are a boggey side (IMO) & will be seriously hard to knock off, unless we bring it all together? Would have been more confident if Marshall was playing.

Good to see Lawrence back, will be interesting how he handles it? Hopefully without incident. But great to see the first side coming back together for the run home.

Not to mention we took the Storm and Dragons the distance, despite missing several key players.

We'll come good, for the first time over the past few years I'm actually feeling rather positive about our remaining games. If we can get our best 17 on the park more often than not, I firmly believe we'll win.

on a sunny afternoon at leichhardt, in front of 20k+, and with all the possession in the storms quarter, the best the tigers could do is lose 12-4, with the tigers as fired up as hell and you are saying thats a good result? vs the dragons, they got within 6 and saints probably played the worst they had this year.

fact is tigers supporters overate there players. there forward pack is unthreatening. all these guys tigers fans think are amazing like heighington do a lot of work, but when ur 10 out and benji throws a short ball does heighington look like scoring? never. same can be said for gibbs, woods, fulton etc.

tigers fans have a strong view of overating there players. chris lawrence has also hidden the concept of how poor the tigers outside backs actually are as well. without him all the other ones have been shown up for what they are , nothing more than safe solid first graders. ryan, brown, ayshford, mckinnon etc. in last years semi how clear was it for the dragons, if they shut down lawrence running down that left side, what were the tigers gonna do? no forwards were gonna bust through, the fullback (brown) was as threatening as butter, and the forwards had no impact at all.

The tigers have a few individuals, but half there squad would struggle to get a run elsewhere.

thats not trying to start a flamewar, parra have the same problems.

Tigers fired up as hell? What game were you watching. And were you at the game? Because the crowd was probably as flat as I can remember at LO. Plus we were missing plenty and the Storm were close to full strength.

Yeah we got within 6. Missing over half our side.

Some do overrate our players no doubt, but I don't think you'll find too many overrating the likes of Ryan, Brown, Ayshford or McKinnon. Most here would gladly welcome alternative players. I'm also on record saying that Hino ain't that great and his work is more about quantity than quality. But the players we do rate have been missing for large chunks of the year - world class players like Lawrence, Tuqiri, Ellis and even our more average, yet strong and regular contributors like Gibbs & Payten have missed plenty of games.

As for your including Woods above - the kid's played a handful of FG games and is still eligible for Toyota Cup (from memory). If you honestly think that a 20 year old that's playing as consistently well as he is won't continue to improve then you're an idiot.
