Weyman knock-out

Both the 9 and Fox wanker commentators were scathing about the penalty against Daniel Conn for that late hit on Weyman. They all thought there was nothing in it. I must admit it did look like Conn didn't connect with enough to put him in Disneyland, but Weyman is not the type of player to stay down and milk it.

I had another look at it again today, and I think the way his head hit the ground in the tackle is what took him out, not the Conn attempted cheap shot.

Any opinions?

It was an intentional cheap shot and the way the head-high tackle rule has been called this year, if you make contact with the head in the tackle then it's illegal no matter how light, so it was deservedly given a penalty. I don't think it would have been what concussed Weyman though. Probably a mixture of the contact with the tacklers and the ground. There is no way he'd sacrifice sitting out 50 minutes of a grand final to milk one penalty though.

Well two facts:
1. He had a massive lump on his head; and
2. He didn't play any further part in the game.

The fact that Daniel Conn has come out and said he took a dive and didn't touch him should be taken with the requisite grain of salt considering there is video of him clearly connecting with a clenched fist.

Weyman's eyes were like rolling.

He was hit by Conn but also crashed his head into the turf and I think it was about 50:50

It wasnt until the final angle that I finally saw that Conn hit him sweetly with a swinging closed fist right on the temple.

I can understand the opposition wondering whether he was milking it, but the guy couldnt walk, didnt play for the rest of the game & has a dirty big lump on his head, FMD how proof do you need?!!!!!

Imaging if we had lost the game after losing our best prop for 50 minutes of the game? Roosters and Manly have a few thugs in their teams, they need to control their aggression or they will have short careers.

A low act coming out and suggesting 'Weyman' took a dive. Interesting though that the papers reported Conn played 'most' of the game with a fractured hand - probably the hand that connected with Weymans head.

It reminded me of the glancing hit Danny Green gave to that other guy, knocked him out cold but didnt look like much. Weyman didnt come back, the way the Fox commentators carried on was atrocious.

I was watching the same thing and the Fox commentators (aka employees of News Ltd one way or another) disgusted me with their comments. This after they reacted so quickly to a beau scott shot on Friend that on replay looked harmless since it glanced off his shoulders. I can't wait for the rematch next year at ANZAC already
