Great game, full of tension. England were clearly the better team, very resourceful, and deserved to win. The refereeing decisions allowed Aus to tie the game - penalties to England's scrum when they were dominating the scrums, missing a pull on Johnson's shoulder in the lineout near the end of regulation time - but the Wallabies still deserve credit for hanging in there and taking advantage of opportunities.

it was only a matter of time when they smashed over larkham,, once he was crippled the poms had a door opened..

fantastic game imho,, you cant take anything away from the brits , but georgie and the boys were fantastic.

good to see jeremy paul come on and i thought that andre watson had a great game...

english thoroughly deserved that win
the aussies were second best in almost every aspect of the game

its a bit ridiculous when an entire team's points come from one man though
and many ppl forget flatley had a higher success rate at goal-kicking that wilkinson going into last night's game
.. however his kicking last night erased that stat

WHAT A GREAT FINALE TO A GREAT TOURNAMENT. RUGBY HAS PRESENTED ITSELF TO THE WIDER AUSTRALIAN COMMUNITY AND WON THEIR SUPPORT FOR IT'S REPRESENTATIVE WINTER TEAM. ONLY BETTER DAYS ARE AHEAD. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT AUSTRALIA WOULD HAVE PRODUCED THE HIGHEST ATTENDENCE FIGURES OF ALL RWC's. FANTASTIC. CAN'T WAIT FOR 2007. I WILL BE IN FRANCE FOR IT. :)

CAN'T WAIT. :) :)

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong

Under the shade of a coolibah tree

And he sang as he watched and waited 'til his billy boiled

You'll come a-waltzing matilda with me

Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda You'll come a waltzing matilda with me And he sang as he watched and waited 'til his billy boiled You'll come a-waltzing matilda with me

Down came a jumbuck to dri-ink at that billabong

Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee

And he sang as he stuffed that jumbuck in his tucker-bag

You'll come a-waltzing matilda with me

Up rode the squatter, mounted on his thoroughbred

Up rode the troopers, one, two, three

"Where's that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker-bag?"

You'll come a-waltzing matilda with me

Up jumped the swagman and sprang into that billabong

"You'll never take me alive!", said he

And his ghost may be heard as you pa-ass by that billabong

You'll come a-waltzing matilda with me

THE POMMIES WHERE LUCKY TO WIN ;-)

England were lucky?

Australia were the lucky ones. The Irish played better than them in the 17 - 16 game. If the result was turned around, Australia would hvae lost to France in the quaters. How does that feel?

They were lucky that NZ played their only bad game of the season that one night.

What was the problem with only scoring one try ? Maybe you Union boys should drop two players and open up the field and there'll be more action. Another thing - lineouts are ridiculous.

Something like 100 million tune in for the Superbowl, a Sport that is even more attrocious to watch than Grunt 'n' punt. Union is a small crease on the global sporting landscape and will remain so for atleast four score and seven years.
