I don't see how they're going to get 1.5mill for this, at $50 a ticket that requires 30k in attendance

What am I missing? how on earth will they attract 30k to a trial game?

What if it's a legendary player like Luke Lewis but have been a legend for both Penrith and sharks. If the sharks got away with not including Lewis's extra money but it was the panthers who made him the star he is.

Also problem with this is teams like Melbourne will continue to have origin players and will have a different guy each year earning more money so they can pay the other others.

This is such bullshit I'm sick the people running and calling the game sucking theses blokes off. Everyone has a different opinion on who is better then who.

I highly doubt that anyone other than a Cameron Smith, JT or Slater would have got passed the first sentence when proposing this shitfest.
Cam Smith has the NRL on its knees waiting for the every last drop.

Once they have retired they probably will have a Cameron Smith round and a jonathan thurston round every year.

The thurston round all players will wear head gears and be sold and will go to the struggling thurston family.

The smith round all players will be encouraged to grapple tackle and all fines will go to the Smith family foundation.

I don't suppose either of them have a couple of 20 cent coins between them to rub together so I guess they must really need to money to feed their starving families.

This is just ridiculous, allowing clubs to cheat the rules just for those 2. They are greats but this is just nonsense. I definitely won't be attending.

If they're really going for the cash grab they'd get it on pay per view. Thats where the big money come from for these stunts.

Very common in uk to have testimonials, I'm surprised it's taken this long for players here to cotton on!

Wally Lewis had a testimonial game in 1992 and some of our cricketers have had one. This is just a loop that clubs are doing to break the rules of the competition.

They should each have to captain a local pub side full of fat piss heads dressed like Dallas Donnelly who'd like nothing better than to maim a superstar. Smith and Thurston running a gauntlet of Les Boyd styles eye gouges, elbows and headbutts for 80 minutes. Now that I'd pay for.
