if their gonna do that then they should at least put wulsh in five eighth and keep jarrod mullen in half back don't you reakon?

No - Walsh is a natural halfback who wouldn't go well at 5/8 because he is too small - while Mullen can play both positions well, but is a better 5/8.

TBH I suffered the same concern about the switch in the halves. Mostly because I think Mullen is our "senior" playmaker (not to mention NSW halfback) and should see most of the ball. However, as Roopy said, Walsh can't really play 5/8 so it would be best to play each bloke in their junior positions. Here's hoping it works out...

Darren Lockyer is senior playmaker at the Broncos. Brad Fittler was senior playmaker at the Roosters. Just because he's the senior playmaker out of the two doesn't mean he has to be halfback.

The last thing we need is another Joey situation where he was the man they went to on every single play. For the first time in ages we have two genuine playmakers who can cause havoc down either side of the field, so we shouldn't restrict our ability by just going to one of them.

Jarrod is a natural 5/8th, great running game out wide, just see his try against the Broncs like 3 weeks ago. Good speed and good step in a bit of space. Walsh is a classic halfback I think, in the mold of Langer (well hopefully)

The only reason why half-back is the seen as the more "important" or "creative" role
is because of guys like Joey, Sticky and Alfie.

But those days are gone and the blokes that is going to usher the game into a new era
are Mullen, Carney, Jr Jr, Thurston (started as 5/8 only moved to accommodate others)

The role of the move traditional half-back will come back into fashion.
The 5/8 will be the creator and the half will be the organiser.

Some of the most creative players of all time have been second receivers - Lewis, Lamb, Lyons, Fittler, Bobby Fulton - all injected themselves into the attack where they saw a weakness and blitzed teams.
Walshy can do the organising - and Mullo can look for opportunities and Walshy will find him when Mullo wants the ball. They are a twin act.

As the cards have fallen, Mullo's best shot at getting back into SOO for game 3 is probably as a 5/8 anyway.
Kimmorley is the 7 you would think - but the 6 is up for grabs and not too many people have their hands up.

Yeah Walsh is definately a pure halfback. Creative kicker, long passer and loves his hands on the ball. It's a great combination just the way it is and fingers crossed Mullen tears up at 5/8 and gets a call up to origin to partner Noddy.
