Good riddance and propagandhi is all you need to mention. both areor were so so so far ahead of their much more known peers its not funny. Propagandhi hands down are the best punk band on the planet.

have playeda few shows with the Run for Cover boys. were fairly average until Mez joined on guitar. that and the fact that Lukey settled down a bit.

Just on blink 182 and being called punk, in my opinion blink 182 is so so so heavily influenced by the descendents that you can definitly hear the Punkness so to speak. The descendents were one of the most important bands in punk history and to me pretty much invented the pop punk/ nerd punk scene.

Favourite punk Ep's and Lp's:
Milo goes to college - Descendents
Minor threat - Minor threat
Damaged - Black Flag
Jealous again 7" - Black Flag
slip it in - Black Flag( easily my favourite punk/hardcore act. Got teh black flag tat on my bicep. Oh and f**k rollins Keith is the one and only flag voice.
Every single Propagandhi album.
Deviates - Time is the distance(Have the hourglass from the album cover tat on my shoulder). just on the deviates pennywisealfie described them as sounding like pennywise but to be honest a fairer comparison in my opinion would be an underground sounding offspring. even pre smash sound.

Best young punk band i've heard in along time is Mary Jane Kelly from wollongng. Not 100% punk and could easily be classified as hardcore but are definitly influenced by punk. Much like Break even! and miles away from perth. Get hold of miles away covering Hope by the descendents. Fantastic cover

Hell yeah

Please tell me you went to see Tom Gabel and Chuck Ragen of HWM when they were out recently. Only thing that wouldve made that show better is if Dallas Green from Alexisonfire toured his City and Colour Stuff with those 2

Seeing Propagandhi live was pretty awesome earlier in the year.

Alexisonfire - cannot stand them, just one of those bands I've never gotten into.

Speaking of 'punk' bands, Rise Against have lost it completely, their most recent album was very average and their live show was ok but a sh*t setlist.

I saw them with Propaghandi and Ill Brigade at Wollongong Uni Bar, bloody good show!!!

We have played with MJK once before and are trying to get into the Sydney scene recently but its hard to get 'followers' of the band becoz alot of people down our way arnt that into punk. which sux becoz we played in sydney last week in Rozelle at the bridge hotel and a promoter said we are wasted in a pub like that and she wants us to go to melbourne and we are stoked with that type of feed back. but we need decent recordings and sh!t but the punk scene down here isnt as big as i would hope it too be!!!

and in reply to ur other post nah i didnt go see Tom when he came out. but i saw Dallas Greene at soundwave last year and same with Alexisonfire, pretty awesome!!!

dude sydney is so f**king hard to crack hey. Which is why both my former bands always preferred to play wollongong. Punk scene is definitly sh*thouse in sydney if your a young band trying to crack into the scene. All you can do is network and make friends with all the bands you play with and attack the scene all together.
What's the name of your band?

Yeah saw dallas at sound wave as well. stunning show considering it was a festival.

On Empty.....we played with Against all odds 2 weeks ago in sydney so hopefully the people there enjoyed us enough to get our name around as much as possible, but we hopefully will follow this melbourne stuff up and have a crack down there too

What do you think of the new album, Natheel?

It sounds like a mix of Tim's "A Poet's Life" and "Life Won't Wait" with a splash on "Indestructible" thrown in.

All up I reckon it's a top listen and I can't wait for 'em to get back here. When they last came in 98 I was gonna walk up and get tix on the door but had a car accident on the day!

I'm taking one of the posters and framing it with the guitar picks as well! :D
