What do England do now?

I fail to see what blatant cheating they have also used. The whole fielding subs has also been used by the Australians on many occasions.
Yes Tremlett is named 12th man but as the Aussies often do when they are playing at home they release him to his state side so he can play for them and then use local state players as subs, so I don't see the problem?

the English fielder was not even in the squad, our were

he is a specialist fielder brought in for that purpose only

we've never done that

he is also not allowed to field close in, or in a specialist catching position

At the end of test matches one area Australia has over England is an ability to perform. The rear guard nearly winning the 2nd Test, saving the 3rd , bowling themselves close in the 4th. England has only been tested in the 1st Test to see if they had the right stuff to hang in during adversity, and they failed. Australia faced with the same challenge has proven 3 times in a row they just won't go away.

So IMO England are favoured to win the Test going into it, but if they don't have any advantage after the respective 1st innings then the odds swing in Australia's favour.

I saw Giles interviewed on Skynews this morning, he said they will not be playing for a draw and that they will continue to play the way they have, which I believe would be the right atitude for them to have.

Thats what got them to where they are, so why would they change.

he's fine on the field - everyone does that - it's common for the 12th man to be released for domestic cricket and a reserve fielder used - and of course you're going to use the best fielder you can find!

It's a bit much for Aussies to be saying "we've never done that" - would you like to revisit a list of what your teams HAVE done that's against the spirit of the game??

We really need to move on - this is a non-event - the guy got a good throw away, Ponting should never have taken the single in that situation, even if Phil Tufnell had been fielding there - just a poor decision

that's not an issue - people from outside the squad have fielded on numerous occasions before - a NZ team in India was so sick they were dragging Jerry Coney from the commentary box... It's at the umpire's discretion - they didn;t see a problem, so you have to live with it - still one of many incredibly bad decisions by Ponting

Sub Fielders can field anywhere. The only things they can not do are bat/bowl or wicketkeep.

You see with the issues of using sub Fielders however the team does it at their own risk unless ofcourse there is serious injury because, and I am not sure of the rules in detail, the player who is off is restricted on return as to when they can bowl OR bat.

In the test where Clarke was injured for example he could not bat until at least number 8. And its the same for a bowler who goes, he must wait a certain amount of overs/time before being able to bowl once again. So Saying England have deliberatly used subs for bowlers in the field would be putting themselves at great disadvantage.

WTF? If a bowler is planned to be used in one hours time, how is resting him for half hour a disadvantage? Moreso if a bowler is bowling for the third day in a row how can you even consider giving him a rest prior to his next spell being anything other than an advantage?.... and don't forget the fielding advantage of replacing a weary bowler with a fresh specialist fielder.

When Australia play at their best, they don't need much time to roll the opposition.

Fat chance of that happening the way we are playing especially when Martyn, Hayden, and Kasprowitz are in the side!

continue making a mockery of the substitute fielding rules and expect the usual dodgy decisions to go in their favour!

What is all the fuss about????

We can only beat what is put in front of us and according to you guys leading up to the tests you were the best thing since sliced bread. We have taken a 2-1 series lead by batting and bowling better than you lot, the Aussies have only themselves to blame and should stop making excuses. Take it on the chin like men and stop moaning. You thoughout history have been terrible losers (in and out of sport) and make such a song and dance in the fallout looking for people to blame.

We don't accept losses. You don't become a good sporting nation by accepting losses. You find the problems and fix them.

Well you're not a great sporting nation anymore are you?

You are on a serious decline in all sports apart from league. Your great sportsman are now old and falling apart with no new blood coming through.
