What exactly do you think Smith is coaching wrong?

Who cares if he uses a whiteboard, a slap across the face, or a dancing girl. What's his coaching method to do with big mouth Hadley?

Agree - blaming the whiteboard is silly. Would you rather he use a spray can and the wall?

I see no allowance of flair at the club. Nor do I see any enjoyment - no individuality. To me Adam Dykes has never looked confient under Brian Smith - save for a few gales toward the end of last year, and the first 5 this year.

Brian has never had a halfback play a game the way a bloke like Orford plays, or even Joey Johns. Rather then just give a basic game plan and let the playmakers go for it, they seem programmed to some pre-determined programme that is diverted from at the price of death.

The problem with Brian Smith is:

-there's no coaching style
-not enough mongrel, or no mongrel
-thinks he's the 'supercoach'
-no backline movement
-leaves it all to himself, keeps picking suckups for the team who arent performing well
-relies these other duds, who arent that good

Defensive and attacking structure is the main problem. Confidence is always low when your forwards are being smashed and the opposition ones are making easy metres every set.

IMO Its like they are playing everything to the letter of the gameplan and when they reach a certain point in the game and the objectives haven't been reached the players end up lost.

In 2001 Smith had them playing basic football through dummy half and quick play the balls but it was their defence in the first twenty minues that stifled the creativity of other clubs and put them on the back foot. With the changes in the ten metre rule its like he is trying to be too technical in how to combat it with the bigger players and not worrying about the basic fundamentals.
