We used to be so good in the NYC and NSW Cup now they are either last or second last.

What happened to the juniors and the depth we used to have?

I really expected this thread to be about why the NRL season has gone off the rails.

In terms of the low grades, Des has a policy of playing good young players at a higher level ASAP and using the lower grade for developing NRL players.

I think we have over done it this year the NSW cup / NYC teams a very young and in experienced.

You would also have to question our scouting a recruitment of young players over the last few years.

IMO the level of overall talent in the Dogs, NRL, NSW Cup & NYC teams is well below average.
In particular there are not many good young players the the lower grades that can step up to NRL level Lloyd Perret and MBye are abut the only ones.

The juniors were once a strength of the bulldogs. However since a certain figure (large figure it is too) has taken control of the juniors, it has become a joke.

The Harold Matts, SG Ball squads are now a laughing stock, but we still have the same quality of players running around in our backyard as we did when they were dominating. From all reports this guy running it won't be there next year. A move in the right direction if it is true.

This has now filtered into the 20s. Admittedly it doesn't effect the NSW cup as much, but we have players in the system that aren't good enough to be there, whilst players who should be there.....leave to go play elsewhere.

Matts and Ball a laughing stock? :/ Granted Ball finished near the bottom, Matts were still top eight in an 18 team comp.
