You would have to do a % increase for the games over the crowd avg to judge it by crowd numbers.

you know this doesn't count as debating. I don't see why you're arguing anyway. I'm not insulting you, or Parra. Just the morons that have suddenly gained an interest in football for the first time since 2001.

That's OK mate, I have been a tragic Eels fan since 1976.

The biggest rivalry in the game at the moment is Phil Rothfield v Dragons ..

yawn. rothfield attacks any sydney side who isn't one of the current media darlings, and is more successful then sharks. This year it was Dragons. Next year he'll probably revert back to us.

anyway, Magnay v Sharks > Rothfield v Dragons

Even though I voted Roosters v Bunnies, after a little more thought I'd have to go with Tigers (Balmain side mostly) v Bunnies. Both teams are two of the worst performing teams over the past decade, yet every time they play it always pulls a big crowd. If these two teams were to meet in a semi or grand final, the place would go off.

When was the last time the fickle Parra fans flocked to a game when there team has been performing like sh*t?

I just said it, Tigers v Souths (as well as other rivalries) will pull a crowd regardless of their form. 30,000 at the SCG this year with neither team anywhere near the top of the ladder.

The Tigers regularly draw the best crowds in Sydney, despite (2005 notwithstanding) being one of the worst teams in the competition. Parra can draw a decent crowd too, but only when their winning.

tell me the crowd figures of the Tigers and Souths prior to 2005. Parra were the first club in Rugby League to average crowds of 20,000 in 1986, our crowds have been poor for the past few years due to impaitence for not winning. Before the Tigers 2005 premiership...for a side consisting of two traditional clubs their crowds were very poor.

Parra, Canterbury...then Saints would be the two mos well supported sides in Sydney, sometimes crowd figures don't paint the real story, but no other clubs in Sydney apart from the Saints could drum up an 80,000 crowd for a major semi, hasn't been done before and probably wont for a long long time.

LOL. Thats exactly what I;ve been saying. Yeah, over 20k in 1986, it wouldn't have anything to do with, oh I don't know, Parra being the best team in the game at the time? And then they all start leaving due to "impatience of not winning". Sounds like fickle Parra fans to me.

As expected. A lot of Wests and Balmain fans turned away from the game after the merger. I don't blame some of them, they felt like it wasn't their team anymore. Similar things happened with Manly and Norths fans.

lol, so what does tell the real story then? Is it just because you say so?

The Tigers great crowds since the GF wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the premiership?

Yes, you are right, but even before 1986 ( to 1981) we were argurably the most supported side, crowd figures don't translate due to our home grounds at the time. Even up till 1990 our crowd figures were srtong. Like mos sides, people attend when winning, it hasn't with every support base. Our fan base has always been huge, and if i remember correctly, the largest ever semi final in 64 happen to also involve the eels;-)

You don't think perhaps many Parra fans have become frustrated with attending Parra games due to their zero success since 1986? i myself rarely attend games due to it.

What does, yes i see how you think icontradicted myself, but it was meant in another context;-)

*deep breath* LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLlll

"I love Bondi, Tedder Avenue (Surfers Paradise, sorta), Crisp morning Latte's, and long slender rod's sliding in and out of my arse."

I think we need more emotional fanboys on this site.

This has made my day.

PS. Wasn't it Adam Blair trying to rough up Soward?

This is one of the funniest posts I have ever seen on a forum.

So good.

LOL.....long slender rod. LOL.....emotional fanboy.

I seriously think it is Broncos V Storm. They always seem to be really confrontational games and neither side takes a step back. It is always a sold out game, whether in Melbourne or Brisbane. Just behind that I'd say Manly v Storm and Rabbitohs v Roosters but only the Round One fixture.
