Following on from pennywises best player post, what is the best team you've ever seen? Can be either live or on tv, but preferably live.

This is my best XI of players I've seen in a live game and the teams they were playing for when I saw them.

1. Peter Schmeicel (Man Ure and Denmark)

2. Paolo Maldini (Milan and Italy)
3. Franco Baresi (Milan and Italy)
4. Frank Rijkaard (Milan and Holland)
5. Roberto Carlos (Madrid and Brazil)

6. Lothar Mattheus (Bayern and Germany)
7. Roy Keane (Man Ure and Eire)
8. Zinedine Zidane (Juventus, Madrid and France)
9. Eddie Gray (Leeds Utd)

10. Diego Maradona (Napoli and Argentina)
11. Marco Van Basten (Milan and Holland)

Now that XI would give anybody a good pasting.

And as you can see the main contributor to my team is the fantastic Milan side from the late 80's to mid 90's. The best club side ever? IMO yes......

4 scudettos and 5 European Cup finals (won 3, lost 2), including IMO the best ever football display by a team, their thrashing of Barcelona in the 1994 European Cup final.

Great team. But i would have to include Roberto Baggio somewhere in there.

And yes. The 80's Milan team is probably the best ever. Real Madrid with Di Stefano and Puskas would probably also come close, but i havent seen them play so i cant say anything.

There were so many great players I left out, but if I'd done a 4-3-3 formation I'd have put Baggio in for sure. A fantastic talent, for every club he's played for.

I'd put Milan ahead of that great Real Madrid side just because the teams competing at the time of Madrids dominance were not as high quality as the modern day teams. But only just.
You also cant discount the superb Ajax, Liverpool and Munich sides from the 70's. I was lucky enough to see that Liverpool side from the late 70's, early 80's and they were something else. Defo the best English team of all time.

As for the best club side...the 80's Milan side would have to go down as one of the all time great teams.

you say seen live?
do you mean at the actual grounds?
because i doubt many people on here have been to the "live" games with those players in them.
