Fast he may be, but he has shown little else other than that.

Yes he scored 8 tries in 5 games last year.
Of those, only 2 required him to do beat a defender.
And one of those was really just a standard winger dive for the line.
They can all do that these days.

I'd like to see his stats for tackle breaks.
Something tells me if I had a thousand dollars for every one I'd be skint.
He honestly has no footwork at all, and does not look likely of getting between defenders.

He may yet develop into a good first grader but he seems miles off at the moment.

I can tell you he ain't in the top 50

Iro, Ramien and Ronnie are in the top 15 though. 1 threequarter is ineffective or bludging,

He doesn't even look fast which as a winger means you can tend to overlook other deficiencies in their game if they can regularly find the tryline (beyond simply catching the ball and falling over the line). Like a Jason Saab for example.

all of the above

the ground. well, ive been saying since the day we came back that its awful and people kept telling me i was complaining or defending it blindly so whatever. finally, the miners are huffing in the gas after this little canary is long dead.
won't change a thing. worst ground in the league cos not only does it suck, its a charmless place with the atmosphere of a library.

LC? laughable. again, they are on it tho.

i don't think Fitzgibbon has improved or evolved as a coach in his time and i fear the best has already come with this squad.
the team has no leader in terms of who's running the show.
the use of the bench has always puzzled me.

there are guys in this team that shouldn't have been kept and somehow just keep playing first grade.

there are first grade mainstays, many years in the game for at the club who have never been good enough to really contend with the big boys.
and we wanted them to be good. we did, we really like them, but they just don't have it.
this was supposed to be go time.

This.
There is no one who, when the going gets tough, rolls their sleeves up and says "Follow me boys. Let's get this done".

No Fifita.
No Ennis.
No Lewis.
No Maloney.
No Gal.

Generational players, sure.
But you'd have to think someone, somewhere, involved in recruitment would be looking for a player/players with similar traits to fill the void.

I agree; it really should be Mcinnes and perhaps Nikora at this point, but it isn't. Here's hoping AFB becomes that, but the Halves and Brailey should be and they aren't.

I would just like to see more creativity around the ruck. Sure it’s good to see Brailey catch players offside when we get a roll on.

But let’s go one better and get a line break around the ruck when we have a roll on with smart passes and numbers. The odds are far greater stacked against us with someone going one out when we have a roll than players backing up the player with the ball in hand.

How many times has AFB strolled through tackles and no one is anywhere near him to take the offload.

We have to use our weapons better!!

Kennedy and Brailey...never about in the middle. fonua blake iscrying out for people to go with him through the guys and where are they?

braileys played what 150 games straight, 2x club player of the year he by definition is a leader and yet you don't see it hey?

neither from nikora. test player. played heaps of games. not alot doing

these are the guys. they are the senior guys now. they dont offer enough.

Also I’d love to see AFB play the second rower role when we are close to the line.

On Tieg Wilton’s side.

He’s got the size, footwork and hands to be a real weapon in that role.

More chance of him getting one on one with a defender or going at the oppositions half in the line.

Just think about what Kikau did out wide for Penrith in his prime. You create so many mismatches out wide.

I don't think it's needed.

What's needed is the dick at dummy half needs to use him properly CLOSE to the line and not run him into crash plays from 10-15 metres out.
