Firstly, as Madge pointed out, 3 or 4 tries came from exploratory kicks and intercepts which is a tribute to the overall defensive effort of the Tigers.

But the attack was pedestrian. Brooks tried his heart out but the right hand attack had nothing. Mbye isn’t in the game these days, the fullback was safe but offered little in attack.

Some of the plays were read by the raiders five minutes earlier. Players over-running the ball, backs out of position.

I am not critical of effort, there was some courage up the middle, but at the moment there is not much enterprise and a general feeling of loss of confidence all over.

Chris had a miracle game back from a terrible injury, most of would spend another 3 years recovering from.

Robbie had a poor game by his standards, but the heart was there as usual.

Charnze and Croker destroyed us. Credit where it’s due, pound for pound, Croker is the best back in the game and why he isn’t playing origin defies all human knowledge.

Wighton got abused by the tigers crowd for his origin pass to gags, but he was very professional about it.

It was dissapointing, but no one should be devastated. A willing dwz will make an enormous positive impact.

We learnt that you have to threaten with the ball and that we lack some talent to do that. Robbie should be replaced by Liddle for the simple reason that Liddle is the better player.

I also think DWZ would make a difference. We also need more out of Mbye.

Yes, too many one or two out plays. Not enough bodies in motion. Too flat. Mbye, for the white hot genuine talent he is, he had a Latrell type Origin game.

Canberra played with a lot of energy and positivity. Ricky had them “there”.

On paper, this is a fair squad, Madge has to find an answer in their heads, especially the backs. Too many going missing in attack.

They are a busy side Canberra, their fullback is frequently up in the line during their attack and they take calculated risks. Very few of their plays are wasted.

It seems that mbye might not want to be on the bus either and the panthers are cashed up and ready to splurge.

There was a submission made earlier in another thread that Madge has inherited a team, rather than chosen it.

Might be time for the $5,000 an hour “ coach whisperer”

The ghastly & discriminatory NRL would insist the 5k/hr is included in our salary cap

To save cash and avoid this tragedy, the players can be banned from stating the names of any other nrl team.

I cant imagine Madge saying “this is war” or “we are going to win”.

The other coach whisperer was that sharks “ nutritionist” but even his stash couldn’t get the sharks playing better that year.

The therapeutic effect of ivan Cleary has been... to make players worse or leave the club.

Brooks was a handful last night. Strong game.

It took Ricky like 5 years to assemble a squad. It's going to take the same with us to find consistency. He has had good players come and go and obviously wanted to have a team that is mistake free but with high intensity. He has taken away the attacking flair but added toughness to the forwards and without throwing the ball around much are beating teams with good defense and in doing so are now a top 4 side. They have learnt to be patient.

Tigers culture is still the same since Sheen's last year it's all attack with a bit of improvement in defense but the players in attack are not skilled and have no plan or can't take what they learn from training onto the field. Madge said before the game Canberra's defense was their strength and these players didn't listen or are not skilled enough to follow instructions. But until we can find some tougher players when things go against us we will be in the same boat.

Apart from the initial blunder, I thought we were still well in the match at half time. There was no sense of overload or raider entitlement. It was a bit more of a chess game.

That try on the hooter at half time was heartbreaking but once again, at least I thought, the flogging wasn’t apparent by then.

But the benefits of composure game belonged to the raiders. More and better strike. When Croker taunted and flirted with our right side with gay abandon, for his try, the sheer hopelessness of the situation was readily apparent.

We should have been taking them on with risks and flair from the start of the second half.

If you have a bad toe, you put some stuff on it. You don’t wait for it to get worse and act surprised when you need antibiotics. We should have amped up a lot earlier.

Croker sticks out a fend and is therefore almost certain to back himself.

The tackler closest to Croker drops off, Robbies tackle is an air swing at best. He got the right guy, but his execution was wanting.

Madge is clutching at straws if in fact he paid tribute to our defence or any other part of our game. They were slow, uninterested, out muscled, out smarted and out classed by a team that really did not produce much in attack but belted the tripe out of them in defence

Tigers defence, all in to stop the ball carrier and slow down the play.

For the most part, the Tigers snuffed out the raiders attack and the raiders had to take risks to score.

That’s ok, but as submitted above we asked very few questions of our own.

I tend to think in a game that is a war of attrition, we should have taken more risks in attack especially after half time and continued our belief in what was a fair defensive effort in the first half.

What last night taught me was that the Fijian captain and former West Tigers centre looks like the best in the world compared to our current centres (meaning everyone who has played there this year) .

What’s happening in the background above?

Looks like Thompson is auditioning for one of those commercials that Ado Carr / Smith are in.

I learned that the 2019 tigers are every bit the weak as piss bitch side that 2018 was and 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013....

Nothing changes, just the faces wearing the jersey.
