Went to Seagulls last night and cought End of Fashion and some other Aussie band.

Not much more than a pop band for me, although I must admit the singer has a brillaint voice and an extremly large range in his voice.

Then along came this other bunch of unknowns, The Living End.

Still the best live Ausie band going around for me. Although I prefer my music a bit heavier, these guys are so incredible live.

They also make it so hard for any supporting acts to look good. Their energy and stage pressence is amazing.

Saw TLE at the Palace 2 weeks ago. Can't remember the last time I saw them do a show that was so enjoyable in the 30 odd times I've seen em....

This year I have seen...

* Big Day Out, Melbourne- Highlights were The Grates, The Greenhornes, The Subways, Sleater-Kinney, Magic Dirt, The Living End, The Stooges- the day as a whole was a good solid 9/10.

* The Go Set and Shark Soup- The Espy- St Patty's Day- 8/10

* Bodyjar, Blueline Medic, Away From Now & Tirany @ The Arthouse- 8/10

* Flogging Molly @ Festival Hall as support to Story Of The Year- I left early cos I only wanted to see Flogging Molly- I give them 8.5/10 cos the set was too short bt they played the 4 songs I wanted to hear more than any others and I danced like a mad f**k that night!

* Nashville Pussy, Electric Eels Shock and Cockfight Shoot Out @ The HiFi Bar- f**kin awesome rock n roll show! Cockfight Shoot Out are always heaps of fun and EES are Japanese dues who learnt English from reading Black Sabbath and iron Maiden lyrics! Say no more! Nashville Pussy are just a f**king fun, down and dirty rock n roll band with lots of sexual innuendo.... ACDC making out with Motorhead while Lynrd Skynrd watches :D

* The Living End @ Festival Hall- good show but it was killed by 1000s of screaming 16 year old girls all claiming to be from Wheelers Hill! 7/10

* The Go Set & The Mahones @ The Corner Hotel- Again, the Go Set are just a fun loving folk/punk band....its traditional Irish and Scottish music played with rock n roll and Australian accents. The Mahones was really just the lead singer Finny doing an acoustic show with a violinist and a squeezebox player and then the Go Set boys get up and play old Mahones tracks- 8/10

* Zombie Ghost Train, Black Lodge Sounds and Vessel Of Sin @ Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne- how i love psychobilly goodness. I love catching ZGT whenever they come to town. I've been watching BLS for a while and they are really good. It isnt straight up psychobilly.... its basically hardcore with a double bass! VOS were good as well...kinda similar to BLS- 8.5/10

* The Living End/End Of Fashion/Red Riders- 9/10. Didnt see EOF or RR bt from all reports RR were rubbish. Dont mind EOF- they were the pre match entertainment @ Origin 3! TLE played a f**king enjoyable set...hitting their marks...and then some!

* Brigitte handley & The Dark Shadows/ Casino Rumblers/ Perfect Sin @ Ding Dong- Check out the Dark Shadows. they are from Sydney and you should get down and see em if you get the chance! They strike me as being kind of like the Cramps and their bass player manages to rock out in 4 inch stilettos... RESPECT! Casino Rumblers....they just do the whole rockabilly/psychobilly/ska thing really well! Perfect Sin I see quite a bit and its also a good show- 8.5/10

* Lee Rocker- the closest I'll ever get to seeing the Stray Cats! He did covers of "Stray Cat Strut" "Rock This Town" and "Fishnet Stockings" and then did old school tunes "Blue Moon Of Kentucky" and "Thats Alright Mama" for an encore!- 10/10

Oh f**k me! How could I forget Radio Birdman and the bellrays!

The Bellrays- okay, its trite bt its like a young tina turner fronting the mc5. Lisa is just so full of attitude and she can work a stage!

Radio birdman- yeah, were okay I guess

The night as a whole- 8/10

How good is the "E-Boogie" Twizzle? It's fast becoming my favourite part of the show!

The scary thing is.... The Living End are about to to to the UK and Ireland. They are playing for the first time in Belfast, Dublin and Glasgow and are the supports for Less Than jake and Dropkick Murphys. Now, imagine havin to go on after the support band and trying to do better.

I love the Murphys and LTJ bt TLE will slay them musically! Talk about a hard act to follow!

I saw Danzig about a month ago. 10/10

Singing into the microphone during 'We Are 138' with Doyle on stage was f**king awesome.

I went to my first concert this year and saw Placebo. It was a good show, much different to what I expected and most songs were better live than produced IMO. I couldn't help thinking though wow, how awesome would this show be if I was watching a band like The Living End or bands to that effect.

Still a good show and a good band, 8/10.

I've always loved The Living End live but alot of people seem to dismiss them because they are Aussie. It's amazing the amount that then admit defeat when they actually go to a show. Seen COG a few times & I believe they are close to the best live gig going 'round. See them if possible before they disappear OS.

Cog live = awesome.

Made a point of seeing them at both Homebake and BDO. They're coming up this way later this month, can't freaking wait.

help me out here

whats the old school song they play and turn it into a full on boogie jam

The lyrics are somethine like "Kissing in the Dark", or "Kissing in the Park"

they also did it at the BDO and I'm sure he was singing "Pissing in the Park"

its starts off like a slow Country and Western and fire up from there

haven't heard it on any of their CDs
