Seeing I lost the old thread maybe I'll ask again. People may have updated their PC's since then too.

To find your screen resolution in windows:

Close all windowsto showyour desktop
>and then right click on your desktop
>then click on properties
>then click on the settings tab

This will show your screen settings, also called screen area or something like that.
It will be 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 or something else.

Interesting about the size of monitors.
I'm using a 19" monitor with 800X600 resolution screen.
Would I be better to go with a different resolution? What size?

So are you saying I'm better off sticking with the smaller screen resolution size because of the size of my monitor?

Mate that 1024x768 was making me squint for sure. Hurt a tad too.But there's seems to bealot more info on the screen with far little scrolling then before. Is that right or is it just my imagination?
I'll try it for a few days though.
Tah.

...its not the size that counts... I would have thought 15" was plenty.

Mate this 19" monitorI've got is a midnight-spares special.
I aint proud of it, but I didn't commit the original crime. My crime is storing a sizzling product. But hell, I paid for it. It wasn't a freebie. If that's any consolation.

Make sure you set your refresh rate as high as possible as well, that is more important from a comfort point of view than screen resolution.
I use:
Work: 15" LCD laptop display, 1024x768 (refresh rate N/A)
Home: 19" CRT, 1280x1024, 85Hz refresh rate
