They've been called Redcliffe for about 80 years. They have every right to keep the name just as Penrith, Canterbury, Many, Cronulla or St George do
None of those teams would have called themselves that if they were one of only two teams in the city and the other one was called Sydney.

It doesn't matter mate, the clubs name is Redcliffe and always has been. They have every right to use it and hopefully one day sanity will prevail.

That is news to me.

You are misusing the word "right". They have a duty not to make stupid decisions. They can't just represent Redcliffe. They should never play a game there.
Really it's news to you that the club has been called Redcliffe Dolphins since inception about 80 years ago? They obviously represent more than just Redcliffe in the NRL but that's kind of irrelevant, it's not that uncommon in world sport.

Fremantle Dockers don't play in Fremantle
Both New York NFL teams play in New Jersey
The Washington NFL team plays in Maryland
Moana Pasifika represent Samoa and Tonga from Auckland
Pretty much no AFL team in Melbourne play in the suburb they are named after, probably ditto most London soccer clubs.

Have you seen the stats. Was it 6 try assists all year when they made the gf?
He's referring to the fact that the momentum change in the '23 GF back to Penrith was on the back of Herbie passing the ball to no one, the ball hitting the deck and Crichton diving on it. Broncos were in complete control with good field position and tackles up their sleeve at the time it happened.

They were sensible enough to dump the Redcliffe name 3 years ago. They won't go back to it. Heck, they prefer no name than that name.

Dolphins are a dark horse this year. They hammered the Storm and Bulldogs...with a lot of mediocre teams they should make the 8 and get a home final.

They took a month or so to warm into the season and find their grove but since they found themselves, they've been really good
Big wins over the storm and dogs as you say. They gave us the business in the first half before we came back, a game they are entitled to think they should close out at 28-10 at HT. Also played the Wahs pretty tough

Dont think anyone would put them on the level of the top 4 so far but they are a quintessential dark horse in a comp where anyone can get got on the wrong day.

Shame when they are on their attack is stunning

Bostock
Nikorima
Flegler
Saifiti
Plath
Gilbert
Kafusi
Bromwich

All missing right now, most are long term injuries.

JMK has missed quite a bit of footy
Hammer misses games during Origin
Trai Fuller wasn't available due to injury to fill in for Hammer

And we've still put 50 on the Dragons, Souths and Cowboys and 40 on the Dogs and Storm.

San Francisco 49ers play in Santa Clara and not San Francisco.....

They’re a fantastic watch, definitely the best in the comp to watch, but I worry they won’t be able to compete coming up against the likes of the Storm/Penrith/Dog’s defence come finals. They didn’t really know what to do when they couldn’t easily breakdown the Knights defence last week and while Knights defence is good, the Storm/Penrith/Dogs defence will go to another level come finals.

I was completely wrong about them though. Had them 2nd last before the Titans at the start of the season just given the pattern post-Bennett at every other club.

They've already 40'd the Dogs and Storm... We've got this, third premiership on the way for the Dolphins

Yeah the NSWelsmen on here get pissy when I bring up all the premierships so I stick to the first grade ones... Which they still get pissy about, but, as you well know good sir, facts are that QRL / BRL was first grade equal to NSWRL when the Phins won in 1965 and 1994.
this is a good point. At least the 1965 one should count and more should be made of this. Who won that year in NSW? Probably Dragons.
