The Steelers sale was to clear a debt that St George Leagues Club had.

http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/...club-approves-26-million-bailout/1344484.aspx

Did you read the whole thing? The debt was the Steelers, and they owed the Dragons - along with a further $8 million that was covered a few years ago. As I said the Steelers and Manly haven't given a grant to their respective football clubs for some time.

The deal will allow the club to clear a $2.6 million debt owed to St George since 1999, the early days of the St George Illawarra Dragons joint venture.

Yep, it was that one Ovo, and you'd said you had family commitments which was cool.

Congratulations, 11 grandkids! They're sure to keep you busy.

Any idea whether any of the other current Board members are keen to come along to meet fans/members like yourself, or whether they themselves might organise some similar open meetings for members between now and April Ovo?

OK, so me and rowds had a girl date on Friday night and went to the "Twilight Noodle Markets" in Prince Alfred Park (NB: to organisers, Noodle Market's should mean more then one shop selling more then one type of noodle..thanks)
We finished our date with a little icecream and a moonlight walk around Parramatta, and watching the last 10 overs of Cricket in Sterlo's bar.

On the back of a Keno Ticket, we made the following observations:

1) Bar Staff should stay at the bar
2) A good bar has music, even if its just CD's pumped through speakers quietly, background music ftw, Silence is AWKWARD.
3) There should be more on offer for girls then cheap wine and cruisers (Can anyone say COCKTAIL BAR???)
4) There should be an area with comfy seats. The seats in Sterlo's feel like im about to take a written exam. Lounge area (WITH COCKTAILS) would be awesss
5) Pool Tables, didn't there used to be Pool Tables up there?
6) Different TV's playing different sports. The Cricket clashed with the Roar vs CCM Semi Final and we were unable to watch both
7) 3 words. BIG BUCK HUNTER

Also we had an idea further to one of Terry Leabeater's ideas. Showing old (sorry, "Classic") Eels games. Why not have a feature night. "COME ONE COME ALL AND SEE THE 1986 GRAND FINAL IN STERLO'S BAR. AVAILABLE FOR A CHAT AND A BEER STRAIGHT AFTER THE PLAYING OF THIS GAME WILL BE ONE OF THE STARS FROM THAT GAME"

That is all. Love love xxx

What your asking for is what any decent pub provides. Why go to the LC when you can drop into the local trendy pub, get a decent meal and enjoy a drink ?

Clearly the LC is catering for the whales these days. Non-pokie players have been basically forced to go elsewhere.

I thought you 2 would be better aquainted by now

good ideas .... don't want the music too loud tho - it sh*ts me to tears when you can never hear ppl talking cos the music in the bar/club is too loud ... or maybe i am just going deaf? :sarcasm:

i like this idea. it could be a good pre-season promo and could even be done in that big empty auditorium if there is a demand.
