I was unable to make it to the parra game today.
i have been listening to it on the radio, and almost in tears.
i really don't think im brave enough to watch the replay on tv,
and for my tv's sake (as ill probably throw my ted empties at it).

Guys what do you think is going through DA's mind?
What will DA have to do inorder to give us some chance this season.

everyone has said Daniel mortimer is too young,
i think its time to bite the bullet. (give him the 7 jersey!)
Heres my team:

1. j. hayne
2. K. inu
3. j. reddy
4. t. tautai
5. e. grothe
6. k. keating
7. d. mortimer
8. n. cayless
9. m. keating
10. ff. moimoi
11. n. hindmarsh
12. b. smith
13. f. mateo

14. j. robson
15. w. hauraki
16. j. galovao
17. tim mannah

your thoughts?
this is the team i would like to see.

It going to be a long season - Geez that was an ordinary performance

bloody oath.
i truely think we should do what alot of other clubs have done with the likes of mitch pearce, jarrod mullen, chris sandow...

we truely have to bite the bullet and do it. people say it will ruin there development well tough luck to them, they need to debut one day so why not now?
daniel mortimer is 19 and not that small compared to the likes of other young halves..

I think what will be going through DAs mind is simply whose contracts will come up at the end of this season, who he might able to offer releases to, and where he might spend some money next season.

I think in DA's first year of his contract he will be realistic and realise at best this side might creep into the 8. I don't think the goal for this season would have been any loftier, as far as the competition table and the regular rounds go.

I don't think he will panic as much as we do after every loss, and call for wholesale changes. He will stick to a basic general look for the side barring injury one month at a time, and then ring some changes for the next month. No point throwing Mortimer to the wolves by rushing him into an under performing squad.

In the process the team should gradually improve, and DA will have a chanc to work out who he thinks is up to it in the future, and who he thinks he can do without (eg Finch, Cordoba, etc).

We're not playing or travelling too well, but no need to panic. Coach will be playing a long term game.

Keating was one of the best out there, watching on TV so far... no need for Mortimer to take his spot imo, bigger problems to sort out first (Hayne's defence today, Lowrie's mistakes).

i really dont think our major problem is a half back, but ye i would give mortimer a go...our problem is we as a club do not have a winning mentality.look at the dogs and all the succesful teams in world sport it is in built in tose clubs they have one bad season and straight away build a good team the following year,we on the other hand except losing and not being succesful.
today was a joke, last week i thought our defence has been pretty good all year and we just need our attack to take shape, but today we forgot about defence,we really are in for a long, long, long season..

probably unrealistic but have a fire sale at the end of the year, a mass turnover of players yet decide which ones we wanna keep and build our new squad around and slowly rebuild hopefully making us a competitve unit by 2010

I didn't see it today, but just wondering if anyone pushing for Mortimer's inclusion had an opinion of how he went in U20s this week? Or the last few weeks? Killing it, is he?

Or wondering whether we're all just pushing for his inclusion because the papers have talked about him in looking for a story angle, or just because he happens to be the next on the #7 production line?

mmmm. . .
tbh BM, i think its what the papers are ssaying.

i think the best thing for him would be for DA to say to him prove to me over the next month that you can be our number 7.
kill it in u20s for the next month and u can debut. . .

I'd look at getting Mortimer on the bench somewhere in the next few weeks. He won't be able to turn anything around by himself, but that's not what it's about. Getting him some NRL experience will set him up for next year.

I'd wait until origin time... not because we'll have anyone in it, but because the teams we'llo be playing might be weakened and it could be a good time of year to start that taste of NRL from the bench for the kid.

Yep, that's what I reckon too...

If his form is warranting a call up to open grade, then he should get it. DAa could have a word and say, prove to me you can do this this and this, and after that you'll get a shot.

Until then, why put pressure on the kid's shoulders to somehow turn our season around... it's not his fault we're where we are.

exactly,
if parra play there cards right with daniel i truely think he will be something really good and maybe great.
when you have the likes of hayne, mateo, inu etc...
all you need is a quality half to feedd them good ball in space and let them work there magic!

Hadley was praising his first half today where he set up a try or two. Didn't hear past half time so I can't comment on that... we ended up losing on the bell I think?

If INU plays NRL next week then Broncos will win by 1000.
He has nothing at the moment, doesn't even look like he's trying.
We were never going to win even if Hindy played, are players aren't mentally tough enough to play NRL under a tough coach like DA. Bring on the clean out.

I really dont know what to do. Apart from falling in a blubbering heap, curled up in the foetal position sobbing and trembling and muttering to myself. Don't know if there is a solution just yet BUT I'm hopeful that the season will get better (please oh please let it get better). I do have faith in DA though and I am realistic enough to know that we may have to sacrifice this season to get results later. But WTF were some of them doing out there today. Just watching the TV replay and Hauraki and Inu just stood there and watched a bulldog player stroll through for a try. Just f***in watched! Not a single muscle moved to stop it. I just couldn't believe my friggin eyes!!
