what we need to do this weekend

If i was going to give some edvice and game plans to the knights thi is what i would say to them
1. defence will win us this game we have to shut down the roosters attack on our own line, try to put ass much pressure as you can on the likes of finch the young player of the team i think he could be a target in defence as well as walkout i mean walker and dont take your eyes of wing our markers have to be alive all the time

2. lots of kicks early in the tackle coount 3 or 4 this will turn them around and will also take presuure of kidley alowing him if the defence runs up he will not have to put in a rush kick

3. i see a backline of hegarty cross on one side up against tahu/gidley gidley against croos is well i will say no more i think we can attack that side and if athu is there well that will be a big linch pin on the other side we have flanery and walkout and quin and doogs flannery is a big boy not the most mobile centre and not the fastest combined with walout thats were we could score some points and with some of the runs doogs has been having getting ride of 3 or 4 5 defenders walkout strugles to tackle anyone at all so i think doogs could have a field day. But on the other hand quin will have to be one his gaurd in defence that falnery does not run over him

4. lots of runs from dummy half ithink the roosters struggle like in that game against canberra they struggled with all the dummy halve running

5. we need to have lots of boddies in action on there line it makes kidleys god so much easier when we have numerous people running at holes

6. our bench players have to realy stand up along with all our forwards pepper morley he can get very frustrated if we get in his face(price broke his jaw at training hes gonne till next season)

7.and lastly no sily penaltys we dont want to constantly piggie back the goosters down our end this means you perry and no handling eroors a simple game plan kick chase

good luck boys

Our forwards have to smash their forwards, oh yeah, and our backs need to run in a few tries.
Simple as that.

Kurts kick chase game will be a huge advantage to us, its a lot better than joeys so we have a better chance to shut down minichiello, we have to get up on him as fast as possible, and dont give wing any space, marker defence has to be better than normal.

We need to have a great defensive game. We need perry, parsons, kennedy and simpson all to get us good go forward. We need macdougall and the outside backs to play well and get involved and continue the go forward of our big men and also to score us trys. Kidley will need to have a good kicking game and to get good balls out to macdougall and gidley.

The fans need to do more than that.
This weekend, we need to show our true passion.
Our true motivation.
Our honest, devout belief that the Knights can win this game.

We need to shove it up the latte-sipping Bondi socialite players.
We need to remind the Roosters that they have Siemen on their jerseys.
We need to follow Parki's lead and wear KFC buckets on our heads.
We need to throw thousands of kilos of feathers around at every moment possible.

But most importantly, we need to scream so loudly that the boys hear us cheering, hear us supporting them to the very end. We need to scream so loudly that we lose our voices for the rest of the week after the celebration of kicking some Gooster buttocks.

We need to do this for the boys.
We need to do this for the Knights.
We need to do this for ourselves.

I think Danny needs to run more from dummy half, he is really good at it, but he doesn't do it enough.... even at the line, his strong enough to push himself over.

Defence wins games, but so do points.

The Knights don't have trouble scoring points, but a leaky defence can undo a lot of good work.

The first 10-20 minutes are absolutely crucial - you have to dominate in the forwards, make 40-50 metres per set and put a nice big kick in every time. If you put on a couple of tries in a row early you set yourself up nicely.

The Roosters will be looking to keep Perry, Parsons, Kennedy etc quiet early - Buderus will be targetted, and defensively they'll be on their game. But the Knights forwards have the ability to counter-punch - you provide a mistake-free 20 minutes, build some good sets together, get down in attacking territory and get it to the likes of Gidley, MacDougall, Buderus etc - with runners on either side - and you're going to be scoring points.

If you establish your lead you need to maintain something - the Knights showed against the Dragons that they can keep sides scoreless in a second half and score points themselves (28 in the Dragons game) - while this won't happen tomorrow night, there is a real need to keep the Roosters out of the game if you can establish a couple of tries ahead at halftime.

The Knights, without Johns last year, remained in the game until the 60th minute when a try-scoring opportunity was turned against us and suddenly we had a try scored up the other end against the run of play. Those sort of things can dint your confidence, but I'm confident the Knights will hang in the game if they're on their game.

The Knights must show early that they mean business - no point dilly-dallying around for 10-20 minutes trying to get a feel for the game. This is finals football and you don't muck around.

The Roosters can be beaten - if the Knights play the way they can, forwards making metres without mistakes and the backs working hard to get the ball around - plus - support every line-break or half-chance - then you start contesting the football match.

I can't wait - I'm ready, the Knights seem ready - if the Roosters are then we've got a very tough but by no means unwinable match on our hands.

Go the Knights
