in the end the 2011 versions of the packers and saints turned out to be like the 2000 rams. unbelievable offense but a d so putrid it couldn't stop anyone, no matter how mediocre an offense it met.

for all the talk about the whiners d, the saints still put 32 points on them. the problem was they couldn't stop their plodding offense when it mattered. their d let the whiners offense march down the field 80 yards for a td twice in the last 4 minutes. you're not gonna win anything with defense like that.

as for the packers, after seeing the highlights (or lowlights) of the game against the giants, their d was abominable. you can't win with defense like that. in the regular season, sure, you can win but when the playoffs come round your d better be able to make a stop in crunch time otherwise you're outta here.

While the niners D did concede 32 points, they created 5 turnovers.and did enougj for the majority of the game to keep victory within reach, I think thats the best you can do against that offense.

Justin Smith is a colossus, did you see that play where he bullrushed Jarrod Bushrod into Brees and then grabbed Brees and pulled him down? Phenomenol

yeah but at the end of the day 32 points should be more than enough to win a playoff game. also, the whiners offense won the game for them with two come from behind tds in the last 3 mins.

the whiners d slowed the saints down for a fair bit of the game but in the end the saints offense had their way with them. that put the pressure on the offense to score and they did, twice.

so yeah, you're right. the d kept the whiners in the game but the offense had to close the deal. one side of the ball can't win a playoff game for you, it has to be a collective effort. the packers and saints found that out.

NO defense was pretty good for most of the game, doing their usual high pressure stuff, counting on the offense to annul any mistakes made by them. Maybe they should've covered better in the final stages of the 4th quarter though. Leaving Davis free like that will hurt you!

Another thing, Graham's second TD shouldn't have happened, at least not to a D like the 49ers. That was a bit of miscommunication between Willis and the safety who ended up offering Graham a freeway to the end zone. May have been a blessing though, as it left enough time for "The Catch III" to happen! \\\\:D/
