Does anyone know anything about Fridges. For the last 2 weeks every 2nd day water leaks out from under my vegetable crisper and over the kitchen floor. Its really starting to bug me and I cant find where the water is actually coming from. Anyone know what might be causing this? Dont wanna have to call out a repair man, they charge too much

Maybe the door isn't being closed properly or the seals are shot, does it have a freezer abover it?

If so then the water may be defrosting from that when it isn't closing properly.

I would guess that the fridge is a cyclic defrost and the container at the back that catches the water may well be blocked. Pull the fridge out and have a look at the back near the motor for a plastic container - probably full of dust bunnies.

If it is happening inside check for a small drain hole inside that may have also become blocked - depends on the age of the fridge but some older models have one down the back near the crisper.

Damn! That sounds like work!!! Will have to have a look at it tomorrow. It only seemed to happen after I pulled the crisper out to wipe the fridge out. See, cleaning isnt a good thing!!!

if its only happening every second day it water from the defrost cycle, assuming its cyclic defrost

prolly a blocked drain

Yeah, Its seems to be coming from bits of ice that are falling into the bottom of the fridge. Gotta work out how its gettin there now. Looks like a weekend job

if it is making a lot of ice it could be that your door seals are not sealing very well, hence you are getting air inside the fridge and thats where the ice comes from, the moisture in the air

any ice in the drain should melt

Twizzle is 100% correct above.

The rubber on the door seal is probably all flappy and peeling off.

It's very cheap to re-do the new inner rubber thing on the door.

As well, defrost.
