Sitting down to watch the footy on a Friday night I do enjoy cracking open a coldie and getting a kilo of prawns with the chileboys and the ole seafood sauce and start snapping the heads off and the tails and into the sauce :D But if I was to go to a seafood restaurant I must say lobster can't be beaten or a big fat mud crab, don't mind the chilli squid either just quietly.
In the old fish and chip takeaway calamari is always first choice and some battered flathead goes down a treat with a lemon wedge. Some of the best fish and chips I've had (besides the Takeaway shop at Heathcote) would have to be a place just out of Christchurch on the water, their fish and chips was to die for :p

Last weekend i cooked up a massive seafood feast for about a dozen friends. Bloody expensive but was so good.

Did a calamari and baby octopus salad, lemon pepper calamari, thai fish cakes, marinated prawn skewers, smoked salmon bruschetta, oysters kilpatrick & natural, a couple of kgs of fresh ocean king prawns with various sauces and a massive seafood paella.

Of all that the Paella is a favourite for a meal. On it's own though you can't go past some fresh king prawns. I also love scallops with the roe still attached.

Seriously though whoever invented seafood extender needs to be shot. f**king awful stuff.

Not a big seafood eater as a whole, but I love fish and you can't go past all those QLD reefies, stuff like Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Large Mouth Nannygai....baked whole with some shallots, garlic, lemongrass, capsicum and chilli and served with your choice of sauce ( I like home made chilli sauce myself).....MMMMMMMM...

Prawns.

Particuarly garlic prawns.

I just hate peeling the bastards. That's why prawns are so good. There has to be a reward for peeling them....

Fish and calamari are up there as well....

Give me a mix of the above plus a few Crownies and a great footy match with the Knights in winning form and I'm happy.
