The one on the right has telstra and its logo - double the exposure.

id say from a marketing standpoint the first one is better, everyone knows the blue tesltra with the orange circle thing, the other one is just weird too much blue

The one on the right shows the new Telstra logo. It is no longer incorporated with the word Telstra. A slight change of image for the telstra brand that's all.

Yeah, unnecessary change. They have really only now after five seasons started getting brand recognition with the first logo and now they're playing with it again. And the migration to using it has been poor too, as the other one is in use as well.
