When did you become a Panthers supporter?

So, the question is put forward - when did you become a Panthers supporter? (if you can remember)

I became one in the middle of 1994, after being a Tigers fan as a kid (and a brief flirtation with the Broncos).

I decided to choose a team, and stick to it, hopefully forever, as my love for rugby league was growing at a quick rate, as a 15 year old.

For a good month, it was either going to be the Panthers or the Raiders.

In the end, I chose the Panthers. Can't pinpoint why, but I was a big Fittler fan at the time, and also liked seeing Alexander play. And they were local. Supporting Parramatta at that time was just wrong - openly admitting it was just like being dakked in a public place... hugely humiliaiting.

And a lifelong love affair was born from there. The first few years was frustrating, but it has well been worth it!

I can not now EVER see myself supporting another team.

The Panthers for ever! ;-)

2000, after watching Panthers come from 31-8 down to defeat the Tigers 32-31. I went for Norths prior to that until they merged with Manly and i didn't know who to go for then i fell inlove with the Panthers.

My hubby took me to see a Penrith game at Penrith Stadium

I had never seen a game of footy before, nor had any interest in the game before then.

But one game was enough to get me hooked for life.

My hubby decided after that day that he didn't really like footy much, so ever since
that day, it has been something that my daughter and I did together, and then my
son started coming when he was older.

My son-in-law and 2 grandsons have all been to games at different times, even though
they are not as fanatic as Kylie and I are, but it's a start.

So there are days at Penrith Stadium when we have 3 generations of our family there
together.

It was the year I started playing football for my school. Our coach was involved with Penrith and instilled loyalty to your local side in us very early on. We also scored Schoolboy passes to all home games which was great.

1994 (mainly 1995)

only started following league when i was 10 (i just went for whoever was winning) and when i was 11 i needed a team to follow. At the time everyone was either a: Cantebury, Canberra or Brisbane supporter and i didnt want to follow suit

So i started to follow penrith because Greg Alexander was playing. In 1997 (when to me there was no season), i thought it was just ridiculous having 2 rival comps, i didnt support no one. i sort of liked Newcastle though. but after that ive liked the panthers since

Got introducted to league with a exhibition game at primary school. My old man gave me the biggest lecture when I wanted to play (hes die hard union). Became an instant Balmain fan with Gary Freeman at half, soon changed to Penrith when the final series started, Brad Izzard's powerhouse displays got me hooked. Made my first trip to Penrith Stadium in 97 was blown away with the atmosphere. 2003 moved to Australia to get stuck into Penrith junior developement.

around beginning of 2001. The other half loved them and introduced me to them. I realised that there were some cute guys on the team That was intially the reason I started to follow them, but after actually watching there games realised I loved the team as a whole. The other half was born in Penrith.
