It seems the fatter the billionaire, the more likely he is to have a sook.

I wonder what happens to the Jets now.

And it would make Knights fans think what will Tinkler do the first time he disagrees with an ARLC decision.

Edit: the timing is what is disgusting. On the day of the awards night and not long before the grand final. Designed to do maximum damage to competition. Pathetic.

Very impulsive man.

How long before he pulls something like this with the Knights? Or sacks Bennett for the first time in his career?

Buckley and Lowy forced this. You'd think that when they're running a competition that doesn't have a lot of money or resources the last thing they'd want to do is piss off the two richest club owners.

And here the come the Tinkler fearmongers. As a Knights fan I can't say I'm worried by this one little bit. We had legally enforced guarantees put in place that would ensure the financial well being of the club if HSG decided to pull out. The Jets on the other hand were in no real position to negotiate with Tinkler, it was practically a firesale

Soccer...meh, backwater sport in this country. No great loss.

Soccer is dying in this country. By that I mean the market for domestic top level soccer. It's still played by millions, and many follow overseas leagues but the A-league is going backwards.

What kind of tv rights deal do they expect to get now...not a great one.

Considering his issue is with the FFA I don't see how this impacts the Knights.
What happens next time he disagrees with Wayne Bennett or the NRL. I could see him sacking Bennett at some point, and getting out of the knights when the latter happens.

The Jets averaged 12k this year (more than some NRL clubs) so it's not quite a backwater sport you make it out.

Whilst the Knights may have in place some contingency plan should Tinkler pull this stunt with them, it's still not a good look. Doubts in the back of Bennett's mind must be growing when you have such an impulsive and impatient owner. You'll now have some future players questioning whether it's worth the trouble of going to Newcastle when there could be potential instability.

From all reports, the NRL didn't charge him a ridiculous licence fee when he bought the club, one that no other club was forced to pay. Or stuffed him around with insurance for an injured player.

To say the FFA was staffed by monkeys would be an insult to the monkeys.
