Inglewood (Inglewood Primary School) until I was 11.
Rotorua (Sunset Intermediate & Rotorua Boys High) until I was 16 or 17 (I forget).
Lived on Auckland's North Shore since then, mainly around Glenfield / Sunnynook.

Donna Grant (Warriors Director) was my teacher at Sunset - I should hit her up for a job as Warriors mascot...

early 30`s but feel like I`m going on 17. a late bloomer prehaps?

I`ve definitely had my fair share of "stolen" lunches. Some island boys I think hit puberty at birth and then start ageing at 12 with grey hair by the time they leave high school. I remember this polynesian kid - biggest MOFO I`ve seen in my entire life (ripped to the core with muscles big) and with greying hair?! i remember thinking there`s no f**king way he`s a "teenager"? high school was a scary time....surrounded by giants....

life was 1000X better at uni though - I finally got to study with gods greatest creation - girls!

Yep, you'd definitely get a good line in that classic song.

I've had a crack at it already, testing my pronunciation after being outside NZ for nigh 20 years.

I wish you could hear me, I've still got it!

...Thirdly, and probably most importantly, I'm sure there'd be a negative effect on the memberships if the club was to take more games away from Mt Smart.

A basic model for playing in Wellington would be more to do with our 'away' games wouldn't it? Enticing clubs to bring their home matches over? Win-win, they get a bumper crowd, we don't have to cross the ditch, etc.

...On Sunday down Cuba Street there were a fair few Warriors jerseys.

Isn't Cuba Street all posey cafes now though? If so, I bet they really appreciated the league jerseys! In the mid-'90s I had a mate who used to rock up to Ponsonby Road in his Manly jumper for a coffee and plant himself at a 'sidewalk' table. The owners and staff hated him.

...I can only imagine that exploding into something more should they get their own team.

Not sure we have room for more than one team in the NRL. We're not Qld, where league is the number one football code by a considerable margin. As it is we can't even field a side with genuine centres and two good wingers, what makes us think Wellington would find them?

Just spent Sat/Thurs in Wellington for the Warriors game and a couple of other things.

Cuba St.
Yes Cafes, a Farmers, the plastic bucket water fountain, 2x LP (old record shops) clothing shops, shoe shops, half a dozen homeless people, and The Wellington Trawling Coy.

I found Wellington to be retro, funky and edgy-great city.

My last meal before flying back to Oz on Wednesday was at the Mt Victoria Chippery
-grilled hapuka
-kumara chips
- 2 bluff oysters

Tell where in the Blue Mountains you can get a meal like that, it was superb.

Give me that feed up there! Now!!

I really am homesick. I forgot Wellington isn't Auckland by an Eketahuna mile. They don't do the posey thing. Your description is just how I remember it.

You'll get ripped off for food in the Blue Mtns. All tourist prices, geared for affluent eastern suburbs (Syd) types away for a dirty weekender.

Off to Penrith now...my boys are in town. Lovely sunny day (but cool).

Yep, some good second bookshops there, and then a comic shop that honestly must be working on 100% mark ups. Nice Irish pub there though.

Kumara for the win... went to Martinborough on Friday night and had my first kumara in like 20 months. God knows I was hanging out for it and it didn't disappoint.

If you are homesick get on the Jetstar website.
$129 to Akl, $30 to Wgtn, $30 back from Wgtn and $89! Akl back to Oz on sale to Monday.

At the risk of sounding soft yeah I am, did you try the Kiwi pinot noirs in Martinborough. Makes you realise ...again the Kiwi product is better than the Oz stuff.
On the Kumara chips for $4 I got so much I had to give half away to a woman from Belgium I just met. Who had spent 6 weeks in Wairoa and loved it.

Same with the sisters. They were infamous for the raps over the knuckles with those horrid metre rulers.

This will be my only sexist comment on this forum but I truly believe those nuns needed some c**k to chill them out.
