Where will the Warriors finish in 2026?

The Warriors are now 4th favourites to win the NRL this year. This is the best I have seen for decades.

Our depth and the young players coming through is giving us a great chance to go far this year. We are lacking some backs but RTS to centre went well but could be a fluke.

I think we will finish 3rd behind Panthers and maybe 1 of Dogs, Roosters or Broncos

where do you think we will finish regular season.

Now that I am pumped again after the Storm win we will go onto lose to Titans at home and ruin the good times - sorry

I'd love to say second, but yeah those 2 losses were also pretty poor performances, so the gulf between our good and bad is still too big for me to be confident of a top 4 finish.

However, on the plus side, we've had really strong performances early in the season. Last year, we didn't stay locked in for 80 minutes until the 40-10 win over the Sharks in round 14, which was arguably our only complete display of the year, despite the fact we were in the top 4 for so long. So there's hope that we can consistently be good.

So yeah, would love to say 2nd at end of regular season, but for now Imma go 6th (which is still way more confidence in the team than i usually have) 😅

I reckon you could ask this question to 15 fanbases, and they’ll all say they could finish as high as top 4 and as low as bottom 4

depends on how many Sutton and Klein games we get. With no data to support me at all, i say there is a direct correlation to our losses when we get those buffoons reffing the game.
So with law of averages applied on the basis we must be getting them sooner or later I say 5th spot is a good result.
( i reckon it will be Klein for the game v Broncos in magic round because Broncos will want to ensure the win)

Would love to confidently say top 4 or even top 6, but the comp's been turned on its head this year.

Storm, Raiders, Broncos all outside the 8, Roosters and Dogs just hanging onto the 8 thanks to early byes, Origin disruption still to come... it’s like the twilight zone.

I honestly have no idea where we'll end up.

We were so average in those Tigers and Sharks losses that I'm not getting carried away.
Agreed. We were absolutely diabolical in that Sharks game in particular.

The Storm edges are no longer the gold standard of the NRL, and that's where we got torched v the Tigers and Sharks.

I've been talking to mates who reckon we are minor premiers. The chances of that and finishing on top of the Penriff must be slim. Its round 6 moving to round 7 FFS!
  • Year: 2018
  • Start: 5-0 (Won against South Sydney, Gold Coast, Canberra, Sydney Roosters, and North Queensland)
  • Final Position: They finished 8th out of 16 teams on the table, qualifying for the finals, where they lost in the first round.
I'd caution about getting too excited. That said my wife was telling me to calm down when I was looking into booking flights to Sydney in Oct after round 1.

I'd be extra gutted if we weren't top 4 from here. But there are a lot of hard games, including 2xPenriff, Souffs (away) and Bulldogs. Plus Brisbane twice. Also, somehow, our game v Brisbane at Suncorp for magic round is a home game for us!

Bollocks isnt it. Someone here looked into it before, and Brisbane as been the 'away' team (usually v Manly before this year) for every single Magic Round.

They also play the Dolphins away at Suncorp, and unlike us and a few others, they dont take home games to other regions. So all up they get 14 games at Suncorp this year. Same as the last 2 years. Lucky for some aye.

To be fair we finished 1 win behind the minor premiers that year and had the 3rd most wins we've ever had in a regular season behind only 2002 (when we were minor premiers) and 2023 (when we were top 4, the year of Up the Wahs etc). The 2018 table was bizarre.

Remember in 2018 we were an obvious Cronulla forward pass at Mt Smart away from finishing fourth. That's how tight the table was.

I decided to check this on rleagueproject, think you may be right hah :

Gerard Sutton : career record 45.5% (15-18-0), 2/10 since 2019
Ashley Klein : career record 38.1% (16-26-0), 2/10 since 2019 (incl preseason this year)

Gerard really favoured us early on (12/17 wins from 2009-2015), then has just loved sticking it in the last decade (3/15 wins 2016-2025). What the hell did we do to earn his ire 😅

Fun fact we were also 0% with Graham Annesley refereeing four of our games, that b@stard 😅

It's bollocks, how about a comp where they play us home and away at the same venue and we don't play at our home ground for nigh-on two months now, and once in 3 months. Even in that two-month stretch, we only have one game in NZ.
