Where's Aiton

I heard he got drunk and told Matt Elliott what he thought of him.

Can't imagine he will be back in first grade any time soon. The week he was dropped there was absolutely no reason for him to be. He went from second choice hooker to fourth choice hooker after doing nothing wrong. Hence him telling ME off.

That's a shame, I thought he was a great little player with a lot of potential. I think Matt Elliott has made a mistake and I say let's start a campaign to get Aiton back.

Any other Paul Aiton fans out there?

Better still start a campaign to get rid of M.E.

Matt Elliott needs to stop trying to coach our team, and just pick our best 17 players and let them do what they want. The harder he tries to coach our team, the worse they go. We have guys like Masada Iosefa, Wade Graham, Lachlan Coote and Jarrod Sammut who are all brilliant players being held back by a d*ckhead coach.

Use them as our 1/6/7/9 and let them control the rest of the team.

Ultimately Masada should be our first choice hooker. He is a bit more creative out of dummy half and has a bonus of a short kicking game. Picking Keith Peters in front of Paul Aiton was a real kick in the guts to Aits.

When he first came into first grade a couple of years ago, he added real spark to our attack and he has a really high work rate in defence.

Matt Elliott's game plan simply doesn't accomodate for Paul Aiton's game. He is a great runner of the ball from dummy half. We get dominated in the ruck area, which means the markers are always set, reducing the opportunity to make metres from dimmy half. Elliott was giving Aits about 15 minutes at hooker and 20 minutes at lock, giving him virtually no chance of proving how good a player he is.

I'm sure Pauly would be killing it if he was playing for any other side in the NRL except Penrith.

after the spray aiton gave elliott in front of people at mcdonalds he is going to have to wash elliotts car and mow his lawn for a while before he gets back into first grade
As for the aiton lover i think he is grounded due to bad marks at school

His best season was his debut in 2006 under John Lang where he played his best strength which is quick runs from dummy half where he could rip apart the opposition defence and get us moving that doesn't happen anymore since Elliott takin over and change his game so much consider the following.
2006 9.4 Avg Hitups 91.5 Avg metres a game with 9.7 metre run.
2007 under Elliott 7.4 Avg Hit ups 61 Avg metres a game 8.1 metre run.
2008 so far 5.6 Avg Hit ups 44 Avg metrs 7.8 metre run.

Luke Priddis has also suffered under Elliott taking the line on less.
2006 under Lang 6.8 Avg Hit ups 59.9 Avg Metres.
2007 under Elliott 5.7Avg Hit ups 48.5 Avg Metres.
2008 so far 6 Avg Hit ups 46 Avg Metres.

and Elliott is now set his sights on changing Masada's game

There are easy metres to be made running from dummy half following a quick play the ball. Aiton is a great exponent of this due to his leg speed and strength. I agree, that Elliott's style of coaching will cruel the career of Masada Iosefa before it starts.

Under Elliott, the only chance Masada has to blossom, will be shifting to half or 5/8th.

Funny how 3 quality hookers in Priddis, Aiton and Masada don't perform under Elliott. Is it them or him?

How can people say Masada Iosefa hasn't performed?

He has done a great job since hitting first grade. Luke Priddis has been average since Matt Elliott got here... but you can't blame Elliott entirely, he is getting on in age. Paul Aiton is the one who should be pissed off. He was sensational off the bench in 2006, Matt Elliott shows up and he has been useless off the bench.

I think Priddis is in the top 5 most influential Panthers of all time:

Brandy, Izzard, Gower, Mortimer, Priddis.

Sadly, I believe Aiton is the better long term 2nd string to Masada. Aits has at least another 6-8 years ledt to learn the craft of the trade. Priddo is in his last 2 years.

IMO Masada is that good that he doesn't need to be shielded under the wing of Priddis.

2009, I would be looking at Masada starting 9 with Aiton off the bench or filling in for injury.

after watching the windsor v wenty game.Aiton is a long way of getting back to first grade. He is still making the same mistakes. Forward passes from dummy half. Two times they where attacking the wenty line. I can see priddis and isofia as first grade choices for a while
