Which Kiwi/English players would make Origin?

If union didn't exist and league was the number 1 game in NZ, then the Kiwis would dominate the Kangaroos the same way the All Blacks dominate the Wallabies

Agree with comment above, this is rubbish. THE only reason why the All Blacks are a top team is because the other countries are caught up playing other games which dilutes their talent. Union is 4th tier sport in Oz and gets the 4th tier talent generally.

The ALL Blacks beng some supermen is a complete myth. Its about player numbers, competition levels and organisation. Ireland and Scotland have less players each than the province of Canterbury in NZ. (which makes you laugh when the wantabees got beat last night!)

Soccer gets 95% of all talent in Britain and the remaining 5% is split 30/70 between the rugbies (but with the better talent traditionally in the north playing league) and Soccer is miles and miles ahead in France.

League in Oz gets more than its fair share of sporting talent from Qld and NSW which have a population about 2 or 3 times that of NZ.

The biggest problem for international football is that Oz RL player talent is enormous compared to other countries. Even if there was no RU in NZ that desparity would still exist. The Kiwis getting close to the kangaroos is a much greater acheivement than the Wantabees getting close to the All Blacks.

NZ has more rugby players than Oz and gets the better talent.

As for SOO....snore. I still prefer a GB v Oz v Kiwis test anyday.

Rubbish lol, you are wrong on most counts. ^^ England, France, South Africa and Ireland all have more rugby players than New Zealand. Even Japan isn't far off from having more registered rugby players. So there goes your point about Canterbury having more players than Ireland lol.

You try use the fact that only 5% of Britain play other sports but dont mention that England alone has 2mil registered rugby players. They have nearly 50% of NZ's total population in pure rugby players.

^ don't you hate it when people kill your rant buzz with actual facts.

There are no Kiwis in rugby league, just out of form Australians...

I don't care about Poms, but the following Kiwis are "made for origin":
Ben Matulino (would dominate the big hits highlights)
James Tamou*
Simon Mannering (he's like a mortal version of Paul Gallen)
Steve Matai
Shaun Johnson
Sam Kasiano**
Nathan Fien***
Jeremy Smith (tougher than all the Blues forwards combined, plus he's an epic grub)

*murky issue
**apparently suffering an identity crisis, and may in fact be Australian now
***proves my point by having actually made origin before, though debatable whether he qualifies as a Kiwi

Pretty much the whole Kiwis team would have played Origin at some point in the past, present or future. Same with a lot of the English team.

2 million registered rugby players out of a population of 61 million? I knew union calculators were..."creative" but thats a goodin. 3.2% of the population are registered players? Yer right. Maybe 3% of the population have BEEN to a rugby match.

Ireland, more Rugby players than NZ. Whatever. I don't care what that reliable source wikipedia says, that ain't true by a long, long way. Ireland is about the same population as New Zealand and Rugby ranks below the gaelic league sports and soccer on the pecking order.

That england lie has been thrown around for a few years now. Considering half the population are female, and 85% of the population are obsessed with soccer, it's hilarious that some fools even believed it to start with.
