not in the class of the poll players mentioned...although, i dont think Head should be on that list. Head hasnt done enough.

Hmmm, Queensland Halfback.........

More through luck than management - Seymour, Berrigan, Marsh, Sheppard, Fien all injured or out of form.......... The choice was pretty much down to him, Witt out of first division or Ben Ikin.

He played well for the Qlders though....

Came 7th in the Dally M's and was nominated as Halfback of the year.....

and stacey jones gets in?

stacey had a poooooooooor 2004, but i think that was more to do with Coaching dramas.
We all know what stacey is capable of and i hope he gets back to that form 2005.
Prince was QLD halfback yes, and did a good job, but lets see if he is picked again for 2005 with Seymour back playing for the Broncos.

quality player now? Ok...Head should retire and lets make him an Immortal.
what's wrong charles? wouldn't you say hunt is a quality player right now? you can be a quality player straight away surely! I'm not saying he is a champion - of the half backs mentioned only one is a champion. why are you so sensitive? You aren't melon masquerading as charlie are you?!

I wouldn't swap Noddy for any other halfback in the comp, but If I had to, I'd probably say Orford.

Joey. he's the best player in the world.

Yeah for 5 games a year! He is the best in the worls- well before he breaks down! My tip for next year he will last 10!

I'd add Fien as a good chance if Seymour is out anyway! His form at the end of the year was better than when he played for Queensland! Prince is good but his defence well how do you say- it's pathetic! He defends like he is the witches cone and they just run around him all day! He played well in this year's Origin but he is behing Seymour and Fien for me!

Of course Gowie.

But after him I would have Orford.

A couple of years ago I would have put Johns there without any hesitation but he always seems to be under an injury cloud.

you got me  (jokes)
head is quality, but i wouldnt put him with the other halfbacks mentioned. He is not at that level yet IMO.
He is quality yes, but every player (except minto and kelly) are quality players. Its the next level up that seperates the men from the boys.

Exactly! Give him 3 years and then he may be in the Orford, Sherwin, Gower, Kimmorley, Johns class!

Hey charles! is there a single dragon player you do have time for? according to your posts - barrett sucks, timmins sucks, gasnier & cooper made SOO thanks to an assistant coach & head hasn't done enough to be a quality half! you seem to know a bit about football but

Head may be a quality halfback in yrs to come, but at the moment he doesnt deserve to make the list with Orford, gower, johns, jones, sherwin.

Barrett? 60% of STG fans wont him out of the team. He is not a true 5/8. He is more suited to lock. He would be a great lock.
Timmins? Solid player, but thats about it. Massively over rated.
Cooper? Good player, havnt bagged him
Gasnier? Good player, dangerous with the ball in his hand (as well as a mobile phone)

Daley being on the selection panel does sway some bias in selections. I look forward to 2005 when Sticky is coach and he wants some of his rooster boys in the team ahead of some Stg players.

Does that apply with Bennett & the Australian team?

The question asks which halfback would you like in your team, not if he's 'top quality'

& I would have Head because of his age & what he has shown this year. Off form I'd have Orford.

I don't know why people are saying they want Johns in their team, he's just about over

Prince should also be there, as well as Firman. Last year they were saying he would play for Australia

Prince should be there but not Firman. He was one of my favourite players last year but this year he didn't even play. Probably played a few Premier League games.. We will see how he goes in 2005 hopefully he stays injury free.

I find some of ur comments on johns pathetic. i believe it's jealousy that fuels ur dribble. we'll see out of that list who is remembered in 20 years. johns has missed about a total of 50 games out of 280 he could of played. get over the injury thing. its got nothing to do do with the quality of the player. i dont see laurie daley's or mal meninga's careers tarnished by the injury's that haunted there careers. we'll see how those halfbacks go when there 30. doubt many of them will go a whole season injury free.
