A few teams in this comp have either never won one or its been a long drought.
Just thought it would be interesting to see what people thought.

I suspect Parra and St. George are going to be popular pickes because of the seasons they've had, but next year a whole new year.

Canberra were a borderline inclusion because in comparison to other teams in the pole their last win was recent

I can't see any of those teams apart from the Eels winning one in the next 5 years and even then I am not confident about them.. I expect Melbourne, Brisbane and the Bulldogs to win most in the near future. The salary cap is really working though as probably up to 4 teams will have a chance to play Melbourne in a Grand final in a period of about 8 years.

I'm gonna say the Titans. They remind me of the Storm as a club for some reason and they will only get stronger (especially if Bird signs for them)

Thing with the Titans is they've got a lot of players about ready to retire or not the dominant players they were. Bailey, Rogers and Campell.
Also they haven't brought anyone to fill the gaps. There backline should be better next year, not so sure about the forwards though.

For me it's a toss up between St. george and Parra because both teams more often than not are in the finals and surely it's a matter of time before everything clicks into place.
Dragons and parra also have the best coaches of all the teams on that list in my mind.

Yeah that is true Eelectrica, but I'm thinking Parra or Dragons might not win for a long time yet....

The Titans still for me, maybe not with this team, but in the future for sure.

Fair enough. I'd be very happy for the Titans to win one within the next few years. Especially as a GC resident and Titans season ticket holder.

the only chance one of saints or parra has to win a title, is to play eachother in a grand final.

no doubt both sides would have 14 on the field during the game & the 3rd placed side would be given the trophy.

How many people saw the Eels making the GF or the Bulldogs making such an impact this season? Who saw the Panthers in 03 or the Tigers in 05? People making predictions are only basing it on what they've seen in the last 6-8 months and that's hardly proven a reliable gauge as to what happens the following season.

If I had to chose though I'd probably go the Dragons. They'll learn a lot from their finals failure this season. The Eels a close second. Rabbitohs would be my dark horses just based on the forward pack they'll be marching out next season.

Well it's impossible to predict when a team might get up for a win ala the Tigers in 05 or the Panthers in 03 courtesy of the stars aligning (as Parra nearly did this year). But I think Souths (if they can find a real coach), the Gold Coast, Saints (courtesy of Bennett), and Parra (courtesy of Fitzgerald going and Anderson coming in) are the teams with the structures currently in place (or nearly in place) to slowly build a dominant team as Melbourne did from 03-05. As for the others, the Cowboys need to get past being one trick ponies (Thurston to Bowen); the Warriors you just never know from one year to the next; the Raiders might be able to step up from avoiding the yearly predicted wooden spoon and reliably finishing mid table to challenging for the title if they can manage to hold on to their current crop of young guns; and Cronulla - well, something about former Prime Ministers and outside lights.

I predicted the Dogs and Eels to finish in the top four in 2009, way back at the start of this year! Was right in a roundabout sort of way!

You're right though, it's impossible to pick. The Raiders could win next year. The Dragons might not win again until 2301... best thing about this comp is the fact that it's unpredictable.

I think Saints will learn some valuable lessons and end up as 2010 Premiers.
