Greg Cook and if it ain't him then "Scored the clubs first ever try" must refer to a trial game or pre-season cup in which case it could be Rod Henniker

Which ever one is the correct one of course

Cook was a front rower who I think came from Cbury and may have played in the 79 losing side where ashenniker was predominately a back rower so I'll go with Cook. Rest assured if I have two choices to make I'll always pick the wrong one.

Now don't go and bloody well say it was neither

Okay...
Greg Cook played with Canterbury (77-81, 32 games) and Illawarra (82-82, 17 games). He played in the 1979 Canterbury grand final team that LOST to St George in 1979.
He then score Illawarra's first ever try in 1982.
He was sent off later that year in a match against Wests but later exonerated.

Thats right....

WE HAVE A WINNER:
CONGRATS, JUSTME.....

Now, for a bonus point...can you tell me who was the player he was sent off with. The other bloke was not exonerated and actually got 15 months suspension.

Who was he???

Known as the'Bob Cooper incident', he and Cook where involved in an ugly brawl but it was Cooper that found to be at fault by the judiciary. He copped 15 months.

Your prize awaits you. A night for two in the Firkin Fun Bar surrounded by freeeee liquids of your choice.
