I think they've been around 7th or 8th ever since the premiership though. It's pretty easy to shut down a high risk team. I don't reckon they'd do very well in the NRL.

They were 3rd best defencive team up until the recent run of shit form. So no idea what changed recently. My guess is effort not the coach unless he changed your defencive structures mid season. DCE was also a top 5 attacking half at worst yet now seems to go missing. If the coach is at fault for this stuff I'm happy to change my opinion.

They should go with Brennan or Demetriou, proven in lower grades and also seem to connect with the younger players.
Other than that Toovey & maybe Potter (deserves a chance after the Tigers debacle) would be about it for established coaches. We have McGregor for 2 more years which shows the slim pickings of decent coaches.

The only coach for this club moving forward would have to be a relatively NRL experienced. Coaches like Brian Smith are a definite no. Probably Toovey would be favourite but its a Qld team and wouldn't be surprised if Walters pulls the pin on the Maroons and coaches Titans. He would be mad not to.
