Lomu and Simmons for mine.

I must be a mug to think a guy can get away with making 55 metres,0 off loads or line breaks and 46 tackles (Priddis did 51 in the same position against him last week). Missed 4 as well.
Problem is it is 2 weeks stats for Hilder not 1.
He is playing well below par at present.
We need more from him.
He's good enough to play first grade but he's not doing too much around the ruck lately.

I must agree here.
Hilder himself must be confused. Does he look at his watch to know where to stand in the defensive line?

I think he has bulked up at the sake of mobility. Still would be starting 17.

I am still not a fan of the 20 min hooker as a strategy.

Pick one and give him a few weeks to settle in and get game fit for 80 mins.

Stevo, Nutts and Galloway are all out.
Bird could be gone also.

It is criminal that it even be suggested that Hilder be dropper when he was one of our best all throughout 03 and 04. He will come good. Simmons has been given 20 odd games to come good. Hilder has been consistently good for 2 seasons, and has had 2 quiet games.

Show him some faith. He will come good. If we gut the whole pack, who will replace them? There are several players that deserved to be dropped before Hilder's name is even mentioned.

We have bigger issues than Hilder.

I really don't know what Merritt did to have Simmons picked ahead of him, is there a Shark performing worse than him at the moment?
Merritt has got to come back. He's faster than Simmo, has better hands than Simmo, kicks better than Simmo (both for goal and in general play), and he tackles better than Simmo.
But then again I reckon 90% of the Mermaids would tackle better than Simmo

Simmons and Lomu need to go immediately. We may be limited in who can replace Lomu this week, but will have Nuttley, Galloway and Stevens back in coming weeks.
McGoldrick I still have some faith in, and considering the options available to replace him, namely Mellars, I would leave him there for the rest of the year.

maiava - let in like 4 tries vs manly. has absolutley no lateral mobility and just watch all the lil 1/2s run at him. monahan made him look silly - needs a lotta werk

Hilder only 41 minutes last week. Priddis played 80 minutes. Hilder made the same number of tackles as Priddis.

I have no trouble in dropping Simmons. Trouble is we don't have anyone in premier league playing with much confidence. Pelo is worth a shot, but it will be his first grade debut. Can't expext too much from him.

I suspect we'll be whinging about the replacements if we get another thrashing. Plenty of people where whinging about Merrit on here last year.
