Top 5 and top 25 that's all from highest paid players anyway so I would assume that would be Jennings from the list, he would be the second or third highest paid at the club I'd say.
Wells, Seluini, Napa, Evans, Langi & Macdonald wouldn't be in the top 25 but would be most suited to this tournament imo they might not be "names" (yet) but they would be very exciting.
I was assuming Seluini would be top twenty-five, only because he's on a First Grade contract. Napa will be next year...surely. Either way, definitely agree.
Interestin to see this was our 2003 World Sevens squad..
Sydney Roosters: Craig Wing, Brett Finch, Todd Payten, Chad Robinson, Anthony Minichiello, Shannon Hegarty, Justin Hodges, Chris Flannery, Ryan Cross, Todd Byrne.
Interesting to see how many sides run more than the bare minimum amount of first graders. A lot of fans would disagree with risking anyone important but I'd like to see us have a solid go at it, would be a good experience especially for the younger blokes.
I'd pick a side of young first graders with 1-2 old heads in there to lead.
If we were going to have one of those "give it a shot" years I would definitely back a healthier squad, but considering we will go into 2014 with a big chance of success, I just don't want to risk anything.
Lol sounds like the Premier League team played in 2004
It's important to find the balance of youth and star calibre. As an Easts fan I and maybe others would prefer to see the likes of Langi, Macdonald and Evans given a go over the more well known players because they're exciting and the future but the average league fan would probably rather see our first graders.
Disagree. That sort of attitude leads to internationals being treated like shit, and an all round boring sport outside of 1 comp. A few clubs take it seriously and maybe the concept expands to include international teams and gives us something decent to look forward to in the pre-season.
