Well we wont minor premiers and we have both won already in this finals series so there is a big difference.

And to the dragons fans saying that no one expected to get this far, that is a weak excuse. You guys were in the driving seat all year and let it slip big time.

Oh ok, so it doesn't suit your argument then.
I believe you meant to say "we weren't minor premiers".

You beat a Newcastle side decimated by injury.
You are facing the 8th placed team and apparently we were minor premiers by default according to all of you Dogs supporters.
Your excuse doesn't wash yet....seems to me like you are already making excuses for your impending loss, and it wont be a choke if you lost to the 8th placed side, but it was for Saints.

No excuses, yeh its good to be here but now that we are here we expect nothing but a GF victory, our club has that culture, we are not just happy to be there unlike your mob.

Good answer....

How exactly?
His team finished equal with us on points and were apparently robbed of the minor premiership.
So given that, they should have no problem with handling the 8th placed team.

But I guess it's only a choke if Saints lose to the 8th placed side, it wont be considered the same if the Dogs lose to them.

Right, so if you lose then, is that considered a choke?

How would it be ok for you to lose to Parra, but not for Saints to lose to them?

Poor Dragons, i feel deeply for the chokers. I mean year after year they choke, their team goes up in smoke, and Wayne Bennet, that poor old bloke. Enjoy mad monday guys, dw you always have next year to choke again. Parramatta are the second biggest chokers in the league, lets see if they can chuck a 2001 on us ;)

Its not ok if we lose but you guys got all cocky after the win in rnd 26 and were thinking it was going to be an easy ride, then this week it was we are awesome at suncorp and they have never won a finals game there but again you lose, the great st merge choke continues.

 Downie... Manly supporter... Want melbourne win

Hate turned to sympathy after last year's grand final ;-)

Plus it'd make our 40-0 win look even better if Melbourne won grand finals either side to it :p

I'm pretty sure I, and most Saints fans didn't say a word after our Round 26 victory.

Lets just hope for your sake then that your team doesn't choke against Parra this week....anything other than a victory would be nothing but a choke.

First Minor premiers in 16 years to be knocked out without winning a game-

Even Bennet has said Saints have a problem with big games- yes you choked-
Move on- next year is around the corner- If anyone can improve you guys its Bennet....best coach in the world in my opinion...up there with Sir Alex...

Dogs v Storm would be a good final, so would Eels v Storm. Just never got into the Brisbane love.

i do hate seeing dragons out of the comp mainly becoz now there is a big chance a non- nsw team will win even greater than if dragons had won last night and the fact that theyre melbourne and brisbane is worse seeing as i dislike them both but ohwell hit happens and hopefully parra can bring it home or even the dogs to a lesser extent :)

my gf i would like to see is a Parramatta vs Brisbane Final as it would be good to see 2 lower top 8 teams fight it out and the fact Brisbane and Parra have a fair rivalry compared to the other possibilities i think it would be a good gf

When you consistently lose big games over a number of years and have no success over that time its easy to label a club with the choking culture, the Dragons and Eels both have done this over the last decade , although the eels are doing a great job in this finals series to prove that the culture may have changed.

All clubs lose big games but the Broncos , Storm and Bulldogs have numerous premierships between them over the last 20 years which proves they can perform in the big big games, the dragons have yet to prove they can.

Canterbury vs Melbourne. I would love to see Canterbury turn a wooden spoon in 08 into a premiership in 09. The option for their opponent was like asking "which of your sister's is the hotter one".

So when exactly did we choke then?

2005 won our first finals match, lost in week 3 to the eventual premiers, and gave them their hardest and closest match of the finals.

2006 beat Brisbane away, then beat Manly 28-0, lost to the best team all year in week 3 in Melbourne.

2008 - lost to the evntual premiers in week 1, nobody really gave Manly a hard time during the finals series.

2009 - lost to quite possibly the 2 in form sides of the moment. Peaked too early.
As I've said before in this thread if we choked this year, then should Melb and Dogs lose this weekend, that should also be considered a choke due to them losing to the teams that beat us.

I fail to see how any of that is a choke.

The Dragons had 2 chances and lost too teams 8 and six to be the first minor premiers ever to be bundled out in straight sets. THe team underperformed in the finals i dont know what else you can call it other than a choke , they had their best side available.
