A new season is just around the corner and the teams are all gearing up for a huge season. Can the Bucs make it two in a row or can the Raiders go 1 better :?: Is there a team like the Titans that surprised everyone last season go that step futher to make it to the Superbowl?

With the exception of broken ankles, it's Eagles time to shine. McNabb to be back to his Pro Bowl best & showing Vick what an all round RUNNING QB is all about.

im a diehard oakland fan. im hopin they will go one better this year. its unfortunate that they did loose the superbowl last year and i think that tampa bay were the onl team strong enough to stop them. but i have a feeling that the eagles will do well this season. they do have a top quality QB and it was unlucky that they were elimintated. it would be good to see an oakland v eagles superbowl!

Well i am a packers fan. But heart aside i think there could be a few more surprise teams this year. 2 that spring to mind are the New York jets and the minnesota vikings. You're right, Philadelphia will play well again too. Should be a good season..

If the Broncos can win their division, easily the toughest in teh NFL, we whould be a chance at winning the Super Bowl or at least making it. I can't see any of the AFC teams bar Oakland really challenging for the AFC title. Teams like the Colts, Dolphins, Patriots, Titans and Raiders will all be fighting it out. The NFL is the perfect example of how to work the salary cap. It's easily the best and most wide open competition in the world.

If I had to pick two bolters this season i'd go for the NY Jets and Carolina Panthers.

hey shagmop

there's a good reason the raiders lost the superbowl - they suck. if they're the best in the afc, the afc is in real trouble.

the eagles? they couldn't beat the bucs on their home ground in the championship game after embarressing them the previous two seasons. they can't make the step up.

the bucs? don't make me laugh. who did they play to win the superbowl - the 49ers, the eagles then the raiders. please, that's a dream run. they can't escape the rams this season.

the packers? the jets showed us what the packers are made of. the falcons just reinforced it.

the broncos? hahaha. where are they going with mr 50% jake plummer. certainly not to the playoffs. portis is going to see plenty of 8 man fronts this season.

the vikings? i don't mind their chances but that defence has to improve to at least the middle of the pack. give them another year.

who will win? the rams of course. there will be no mistakes this year.

man i can't wait for the season to start already.

And the Rams finished where?

hey, i didn't say the rams didn't suck last season but i know they will be back better than ever this season whereas the raiders will still suck. last season was supposed to be the raiders' season as everything fell in place for them and they came up against serial chokers, the bucs in the superbowl yet they offered no resistance whatsoever and went home with their tail between their legs. they will go backwards this season.

Pittsburgh. Tommy Maddox will be better this year with experience. Last year they only lost in the playoff to the Titans on a controversial play, and beat the Bucs near the end of the season. They are solid on offense and defense.

do you understand we're talking about the nfl, not the old folks football league. the raiders had their chance last year and they blew it.

steve

yeah, pittsburg look so much more dangerous since they have discovered the pass. during one of their games last season the commentator said that the championship loss to the patriots completely changed cowhers' outlook at his team. cowher said in the 2001 season pittsburg had the no. 1 rushing game and the no.1 defense and that still wasn't good enough for them to win the superbowl. from that loss he has geared the team towards the pass and the result is one scary team.

however, the titans will probably be too good for them again this season.

I understand we are talking about The Raiders and anything is possible!!
I will stick my neck out and say Oakland v Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game.
Too old my ass!! Dont forget we picked up extra draft picks with the Gruden swap and our old blokes are all professionals and proved last year still want to win.
They will be embaressed about finishing badly last year and some will know this is their last chance at glory.
Just win baby!!

Im a massive minnesota fan and trust me, the only chance we have this year is if we can take advantage of the piss weak NFC North division and get a descent playoff run - which wont happen. Michael Bennett is going to miss the first month at least of football which will mean the vikings will have one of the worst defences and no running game (Onterrio Smith is a great talent but I dont know if he can step it up yet and Moe Williams only seems to be good for short gains).

My pick is the Miami Dolphins. I deadset cant believe no one else shares this view as i think they are absolute specials to take out the comp. For starters Ricky Williams is set to have a very very big year, I have no doubts he will be in the top two running backs in the NFL if not number 1. Jay Fiedler is a lot better than people give him credit for, he is a quality quarterback who does well considering the minimum accolades he receives. But the main reason I like the Dolphins this year is their incredible defence. With the acquistion of Ex-chargers legend Junior Seau to the outside linebacker role the Dolphins now have one of the most damaging linebacker sets in the league. Zach Thomas is still one of the best, if not the best, run stopping linebacker going around and Seau will just add to the Dolphins pass stopping with his ability to rush a QB. But this is still not the Dolphins biggest strenght - HAVE A LOOK AT THEIR DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD

Madison, Marion, Knight, Surtain. - No doubts that is the best backfield in the NFL.

But, who needs talent when you've got the Metrodome :? , go Vikings!

Piss weak division you reckon?? Well chicago and Detroit won't offer too much. In my eyes it's a two horse race between green bay and minnesota in this division. Minnesota were able to beat Green Bay last year towards the end of the season though so lets not forget that.

Steve Mariucci will turn the Lions around. He is no mug and with Matt Millen an ex 49er, they know all about success.

I think the Dolphins will be solid but with Griese at backup QB they don't have a great dela of dpeth if Fiedler goes down. Trust me, I know Griese.

The toughest division again will be the AFC west with any one of the Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs or Chargers capable of taking out the AFC West title.

Denver has brought in Jake Plummer to replace Griese and the jury is still out on Plummer for mine. He can be good but also make some poor errors.

I think the NFC is a three horse race between Philly, Tampa Bay and St Louis. The rest are just making up the numbers. The AFC is a different story with Oakland, Denver, New England, Indy, Pittsburgh and my dark horse are the Jets. Pennington is good and will be even better this year.

Yep,I can't see our Cowboys winning for a while either like they won 3 superbowls in 4 years back in the 1990's.

And i still can't believe yesterday when i found out our beloved son Emmit Smith had signed with our rivals "Arizona Cardinals" either.

For the record Arizona beat us 13-0 the other day.
