Dobson has to get a start first while Carney will definitely be in the starting lineup but I'm all for Dobson improving his chances any way he can.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Dobson had the best kicking percentage of anyone in the ESL or NRL.
Which is awesome.

Dobson looks to be the best of the kickers just a question of will it be too much pressure for him to take the GK duties.

Linc was pretty handy when he was given the duties once, maybe that will help him in his captaincy crusade?

I remember him practising before the match against the knights and saw one of his warm up kicks miss from next to the sticks. I think he then missed one in the match from in front?

Whoever it is (probably Dobbo if he starts) I hope we retain the services of Halligan as a kicking coach. You could tell he made a big difference with Schif when he came on board a few years ago.

I think Dobson should start at halfback next year. Having a great goal kicker like that in your squad shouldn't be wasted and he is a handy young player.

I think the club has come out and said that Carney would be the man, although I am sure this could change. From watching PL and Flegg in 2005, I would probably have Dobbo as the better kicker, and then of course he had a fantastic record in the ESL.

If Dobbo plays early I would give it to him but I suspect Carney will get the nod.

Carney actually has a 100% record in the NRL (6 from 6 - 4 v Newcastle, 2 v Parramatta).

However there is no doubt who ever it is, they are not going to show the sort of form that Clinton showed over the past year or two. He has been recruited to Union for his goalkicking as much as anything else.
