Who is the biggest grub in the NRL?

The grubbiest act the bloke has been involved in was having his face punched by Adam Blair while a couple of Storm players held his arms.

So you missed him punching Blair, who was being pinned to the ground by four of his teammates at the time? You missed his spear tackle against the Titans last year? You missed the constant forearms and elbows to the throats and heads of tackled players?

Certainly didn't miss him hitting Blair and good on him, Blair got exactly what he deserved. The "spear tackle" was simply a tackle gone wrong as the player's momentum was already going in the direction of the tackle, see plenty of those each season (not saying there was nothing wrong with it). Can't say I noticed any of the forearms or elbows, I guess I was too busy watching him drop the ball.

Jason Ryles - best player ever, dirtest player ever. Heard he doesn't wipe his arse properly when he has a bog - a deadset grub.

Yep. Got 7 weeks for kicking Skando in the head (image 1) and warnings for the 2 feet first tackles (images 3 and 4).

What year did he kick Skando??

Round 4 - 2006. Great year for the grub...suspended three times that year. Two matches for a dangerous throw on Rooster's Ryan Cross and another two for a late forearm.

Up there with the greatest of grubs.

Let's see...

Brisbane: Justin Hodges
Canberra Raiders: Terry Campese
Canterbury-Bankstown: James Graham
Cronulla Sharks: Bryce Gibbs
Gold Coast Titans: Nate Myles
Manly Sea Eagles: Anthony Watmough
Melbourne Storm: Cam Smith
Newcastle Knights: Beau Scott
North Queensland Cowboys: Ashton Sims
Parramatta Eels: Darcy Lussick
Penrith Panthers: Sika Manu
St. George Illawarra Dragons: Daniel Vidot
South Sydney Rabbitohs: Issac Luke
Sydney Roosters: Jared Warea-Hargreaves
Warriors: ??? Nathan Friend?
West Tigers: Adam Blair

Biggest grubs at each club IMO

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Each clubs needs a bit of niggle.

Interesting that you'd put Watmough in front of Matai. Matai's judiciary record makes him very difficult to defend but Watmough has a pretty clean record and noone can really pinpoint why he's considered a grub and claim that he just is. No twisting knees, arms or necks, no cheap shots to speak of, very few high tackles. I'd concede that he's not a particularly bright individual but I really don't see how he's a grub.

Not to sure about Campese either (though I don't know who to nominate in front of him) but I reckon you're pretty close to the mark with the rest.

with the death of the shoulder chage I see more grubiness creeping in as forwards try to get a bit of retaliation in.

Fair point, that left hand side for Manly has always been a cheap source for penalties. I just went with Watmough because generally when I see him he's great at giving away a cheap penalty or three when it's hardly necessary.

Canberra was certainly the toughest decision to make. I mean, I could have gone with an easy choice like Brett White or Joel Thompson but none of them really stick out in mind like Campese does. If he does return this season, pay attention to his work around the ruck, aside from possibly Josh Reynolds, I don't know many halves who make as big a nuisance of themselves as Campo.
